Tesla Updates - Features in earlier releases

Quick question from a Tesla newbie.

I got a 2015 85D couple of weeks back and it came with the 2018.50.8 software version. And couple of days back I received the 2019.12.1.1 update directly. I did not get 2019.12.1 or any of the previous with none of the versions in-between.

With the 12.1.1 version, I did not get the improved charging (145 kwh charging).

Question is, does the features in earlier software versions are consolidated into the latest release? Like in 12.1.1 contains some features from 12.1 or even from earlier releases?

I'm not entirely sure I understand your question but generally speaking yes, features from prior versions are carried forward in later ones.

As for your 145kw charging example, note that is explicitly only for 100kwh batteries at this time.
