Nobody There cares if you bought FSD
Or When You Bought it

Hello,
Thank you for contacting Tesla with your interest in joining our software testing program. The Early Access Program is at capacity and the program is no longer accepting additional participants. Should we expand the program, participants will be invited based on a number of factors including car configuration, location and delivery date.
Thank you,
Early Access Support

We just have to wait then...

I care a lot more about AP/FSD features than games or gimmicks. Having said, I think we need to remember a few things:
1) Updates can include changes that are not mentioned in the release notes. V10 most likely includes AP improvements not listed in the release notes.
2) The new driver visualizations imply that V10 has a bigger NN. And we know of features such as enhanced summon, traffic light detection and smart park that are coming in future V10 updates. So V10 will give us AP/FSD improvements and features.
4) It is not an either or proposition. Updates can include both games and improvements to AP. The presence of a few games or "gimmicks" does not mean that Tesla cannot also add AP improvements.
5) The games and other miscellaneous features like theater mode, Joe mode and hungry mode do add some value. They do serve a purpose. They will enhance enjoyment for some owners. For example, I could see a family on a long trip having fun with the karaoke. Maybe a couple on a date, find a nice spot to park and uses theater mode to watch a romantic movie together. If these features can improve the experience for some owners, that's a plus. We should not dismiss that just because we personally don't care about the features. Someone else might like the features!
But what about item 3? I'm dying to know! :)

What is the "typical" flow time from EAP release to wide public release of major Tesla software updates? It seems like Tesla would need time to incorporate code fixes based on EAP feedback and results.

There are 2 Early Access levels levels that are public facing, but a few more that are not. Much like the ring system that Microsoft uses.

First release is to engineers. Then a group of internal testers. Then NDA's. Then we start moving to more public early access folks.

Builds are usually around 4 weeks from first compile to release but some have been as little as 2 weeks and some have taken longer. It all really depends on how the internal tests go.

Once you see it on something like Telsafi you will typically get it in one to two weeks provided it is a public build and no issues were found.

Hope that helps a little. Software is always kind of a moving target. You can never really put a date on anything.

I assume they do 2 week sprints?
