I tried to register but it won't let me; says it couldn't get an auth code. Can you register before you've picked your car up or not?

It picks the details up from your Tesla account so will only work once your car is assigned to you. I signed up the day before collection and it worked fine.

I activated mine the day I took delivery but after collection. As @Daverh says, the actual car needs to be in your Tesla.com account in order to give TeslaFi data access.

I'm due to collect today but yeah, error. I guess I'll try again just after I get the key cards etc?

Error says: "Home address and timezone found. A token could not be obtained from Tesla.com with the credentials provided. Please go back and make sure you entered your Tesla.com email and password correctly. If you are still unable to signup please wait an hour. Tesla's servers may be having issues."

Details are definitely correct.

Yes, once the car is active in your account you should be good to go. It may be a few hours or a few minutes prior to them handing you the key cards. In retrospect I wish I had activated my TeslaFi membership prior to driving off from the SC but excitement got the better of me!
