It's law in Oregon sooooo.......

Yep. It's the law in California as well. So far, I haven't seen any owners with a front driver's license. I might go ahead and get it mounted. I went ahead and saw this video on YouTube:

It actually works very well. I got the hardware and J-bolts at Home Depot and tried it. My license plates didn't come yet but I tested it with the license plate holder that Tesla gave me at delivery. And it is sturdy and looks like it would work. The only thing is I couldn't find j-bolts short enough so I'll have to just cut the bolt down to the size I need. I haven't done that yet but it should be very simple to do.

I don't know about the cooling/air flow issue but as this gentleman mentioned on the video, Tesla told him it shouldn't be an issue.
