I haven't been on this forum for years, but this was my old car before handing it off to my brother. If the new owner is on the forum they can feel free to DM me if they've got any questions on the history / etc. It was a great car and my daily driver for years in San Diego, but eventually had to move to the model 3 for kid-hauling reasons.

Sounds suspicious to me.
I bought my 2011 Roadster new from the Menlo Park assembly/showroom. It had 25 miles on the Odometer.
Zero sounds like someone reset the odometer.

And if they've been sitting that long, the batteries are probably long since bricked. May be recoverable, I don't know.
Ok, zero was presumptuous/ hyperbole. Odometer hadn't been read yet. Supposedly, they went straight from factory to containers.

WTF...
$20,000. Says it is a signature 100, but the listed VIN says different.

The one above says it is listed for $22,500
If it seems too good to be true… it’s probably a [listing error or scam].

Photos and description of the Electric Blue one, (supposedly #68) are lifted from the sale of #203 on BaT in 2020: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2008-tesla-roadster-4/

Thunder Grey says in its description it’s sig100 #71 - photos are indeed of #71, but were copied along with the description from its BaT listing in May 2022: 2008 Tesla Roadster Signature 100 Edition

Couple that with the fact that the new owner of #71 went to the trouble of shipping it to Amsterdam, and it’s rather improbable that both cars made their way to Utah to be listed on the same day at the same dealer for peanuts.

I’m guessing it’s a contact info harvesting trick, but that’s just a hunch.

As of yesterday the auction is at $800k (for all 3). It ends tomorrow 5/26.

Here's some interesting new information to go along with the story:
The two crates that come with the cars are starting to be examined. Some of the bubble wrapped items reference the missing VIN 1185, which was suspected to be part of this shipment of Roadsters in 2010, and has not been located. (See the additional pictures posted this morning)

Discovered were a lot of large parts such as 4 wheels and tires, a complete door assy., headlight assemblies, and many other small body trim parts not yet unwrapped. If these parts were shipped along with the three intact Roadsters, why these extra parts were shipped separately is still a mystery. Based on labels on parts referencing VIN 1185, is it possible VIN 1185 was to be assembled in China, and if so, where is the chassis?

The keys for the three intact Roadsters were supposed to be in one of the port offices, and when the current owners attempted to retrieve them to open the cars, it was discovered the Manager who held them had passed away, and they cannot currently be found. The sellers will replace them if necessary.

The current sellers had planned to use these keys to open the cars and trunks, to take more detailed pictures but were unable to until keys are either found or replaced.
We have just become aware that some ancient shipping info, viewed by a reliable source many years ago, indicated all 4 Roadsters were going to the same firm in China: VINs 1107, 1120, 1146, & 1185.

The original purchaser was an R&D center for a Chinese auto company, that subsequently went bankrupt, and the assumption is these were purchased for reverse engineering to be disassembled. In 2010, the Tesla Roadster was after all a state-of-the-art EV, before the Model S even came out, and would have been of enormous value to an emerging EV company.

Instead of being disassembled, and rendered into a pile parts in an R&D lab, at least three of these Roadsters survived, intact, to live on in someone’s collection.

Gruber shows a new $2M “bid” on the three “zero-mile” Chinese Roadsters; the “deadline” for “bidding” has been extended to “midnight” (no time zone given…) June 2nd, 2023.

Meanwhile, in regular-land:

#552 (5YJRE1A19A1000522) listed on Gruber in Santa Barbara, CA, asking $135k. Twilight Blue over [gray? no interior pictures…] MY2010 2.0, 53kw pack, CAC 126.43, 19,800mi. Original owner; owner believes PEM (replaced in 2017) may be that removed from 686.

#659 on BaT; Radiant Red over Gray MY2010 3.0 (80kw pack, replaced 2023), 27k mi, original owner.
