Touchscreen lock car button functionality

My wife has to take the car to work in the early hours of the morning and to get to the car she has to go through a dark parking lot. We have pin to drive enabled. When she gets in the car, she wants to immediately lock the doors, but pressing the lock button on the touchscreen doesn't work. Even after she enters her pin, while in park, the lock button on the touchscreen doesn't work. She also told me it doesn't automatically lock when she enters reverse, but only automatically locks when in Drive.

Wish there was a setting where you can set the car to auto lock once you've entered the car and sat down in the driver's seat, or as soon as you enter the pin, or even if it allowed you to manually press the lock button immediately upon entrance to the car..

Anyone else feel this way?

why do you think it doesn't work? is the icon not changing from "unlocked" to "locked" when pressed?

the driver's door is always "unlocked" from the inside. if you want to test the locking functionality, why not have someone try to enter from outside while at home?
