Tow Hitch - anyone else with 050 key?

We picked up our car recently and the tow hitch was already on it and the keys aren’t there.
Tesla wants to replacement the entire hitch because they don’t have spare keys. I just want to remove the receiver part and call it a day.

anyone happen to have key 050 i can borrow

Any chance you could find a locksmith/picker person to open it? I don't have an X with the hitch so maybe that isn't possible.

well if I’m gonna do all that, I’d just let Tesla replace the entire hitch. Was just hoping someone might have the same key number and i can remove it.

if no one does, I’ll make a SC appt and take it in.

Are all the keys the same? I just installed my hitch on my Model X and I have two keys. I’d be happy to mail you have no other options. I’m in Miami though so it may take a little while.

i appreciate it.
theres a 3 digit number on the silver keyhole on the receiver. They are not all the same.

to buy replacement keys...
You will have to supply the 3 digit key number.
The company is in the UK.
He stated that the price for 2 keys was $12.

I used these guys. The new keys work perfectly. Highly recommend.

thanks! Crazy that no one in the US has keys and Tesla replaces the entire hitch. I’d think it’s cheaper to stock keys than replace entire trailer hitches

Bosal (who makes the hitch) is a UK company. I'm sure there are US locksmiths who can do it, but that Replacement Keys website makes it very easy and super reasonable.
