Towing an Airstream with the Model S 100D

Has anyone tried pulling an Airstream trailer or any type of trailer with their Model S? If so, what size? And what weight? By what margins did it affect the battery?

The Model S Owner's Manual clearly states that the Model S is not designed to tow anything. Of course the manufacturer's recommendations simply do not affect some people. On the other hand the Model X *is* certified for towing. From Page 160
in the Model S Owner's Manual:

Towing a Trailer
Warning: Do not use Model S for towing purposes. Model S does not support a
trailer hitch. Installing one could cause damage and increase the risk of an
accident.

Caution: Using Model S for towing may void the warranty.

Thank you. I feel mildly embarrassed that I haven’t read the owners manual in its entirety yet. However, now I will.

I am still quite disappointed that I can’t tow with the MS. I almost got the X, but the silly rear doors pushed me toward an S (I wanted racks on the roof more than I wanted to tow). Crazy that I can’t have both!

Also note that the add-on trailer hitches for the MS only have a 2000 pound capacity and 200 pound tongue weight capacity. You won't find an Airstream anywhere near that light.

Even without a load on my EcoHitch, the receiver will scrape the ground coming out of certain parking lots (coil suspension). Good luck trying to put any substantial weight on the back of a Model S. It can pull for days but is a little low for towing.
