Transfer the license plate from an ICE car

Will be trading in my ICE car with MY (Ontario, Canada).
Are there any pros/cons of transferring the plate from old car to MY as opposed to getting a new plate?
Is a transfer even allowed between ICE and EV?

Not sure about Canada but in the US you can’t transfer an ICE plate. Has to be an EV plate.

May be in some states there are separates sequential license plates for EVs,
otherwise there is a process for transfering license plates to another vehicle:

Not true in Georgia. If want an EV plate (we call them Alternate Fuel Vehicle plates) you have to request it and pay for it.

Yeah, it's state-based in the US. There's no such thing as an EV plate in many states.

We transferred my wives “personalized” plate from our 2020 to 2022. Saved me about $231 vs buying new plates all over again. This was in Illinois.

This is the OP.
So I found out in Ontario, canada, the EV plates start with a "G" and you cannot transfer an ICE or a custom plate to an EV.
