Colin Langan felt the need to lower his PT from 195 to 190 and reiterate his sell rating since it's been almost 10 days since the last time he did it.

Tesla Motors (TSLA) PT Lowered to $190 at UBS

Probably felt the positive sales-estimates for August needed a bit of pushback.

We all know that UBS have a hidden agenda here due to their massive short position. If we know it, then you can be damn sure other do too.

It's about as accurate as UBS's M3 tear-down analysis...

EDIT: here's the tip-ranks chart - the guy's an imbecile...

Here's another reason August sales estimates will move the Market today: Look at the drop in market share for the top 4 cars (those with Aug monthly sales > Model 3). So it's not just the premium German sedans losing sales to the Model 3; its the top-selling Japanese cars too: (% drop in YTD sales, not just August)
  1. Camry (-5%)
  2. Civic (-7.5%)
  3. Accord (-14%)
  4. Corolla (-7.8%)
Here's the table from GCBCs: The Best Selling Cars in America – August 2018

It's remarkable how some people will prefer to entertain ever more outlandish theories on what Musk may know rather than to accept that it is an infection with acute and massive Trumpism.
It's one thing to make a stupid comment on Twitter, to apologize and to move on. It's a completely different matter to apologize half-heartedly and then to return again and again to making highly damaging and defamatory statements.
By now I hope that Unsworth will take Musk to the cleaners, so much that it hurts Musk very, very badly, if only to show that even megarich egomaniacs don't get away with everything.
Perhaps Unsworth should sue in an English court. English law is very favourable for plaintiffs in libel cases and there are enough aspects to establish jurisdiction.
The amount of coverage of Musk's latest tweet in the European media was remarkable and to call it "not helpful" for Musk's reputation would be putting it mildly.
Finally, would people please stop to excuse Musk's behaviour with "stress"? He isn't the last remaining surgeon of a hospital in a war-zone, he is running a car company. Hire specialists to assist if there is too much work for one person to do.

Have you made any allowance for the possibility however remote, the the characterization might have some really behind it? What are your feelings about the individuals unprovoked attack on the efforts to assist in a rescue solution? Is that OK?

Let us know in another thread.

Fire Away!

There are too many Teslas in the landscape destroying the picture of our beautiful nature in Switzerland unfortunately. You knew that Switzerland has by % the most Tesla ownership worldwide? We are buying these cars, even 25% more expensive than in the States.

Edit: please see an example below of a Tesla destroying our beautiful landscape. Thanks for the example btw
Ha! Well, at least with the country full of Teslas you won't have to worry about smelling all those diesel fumes from the BMWs and Mercedes.

Not only are people reserving Tesla Semis, but they're making second reservations now too!

Tesla Semi receives order of 30 more electric trucks from Walmart

I can't wait for the Tesla Semi to arrive: I'm actually more excited by it than Model Y.
Less sexy, but concrete and probably the best way for Tesla to show that is serious about a sustainable energy world.

The demand is probably one/two order of magnitude smaller than the 3, so I hope that manual assembly can scale up quickly (as Elon said previously). They could actually make *a lot* of them a fullfill all current reservations in no time.
But I don't know about margins and possible bottlenecks from the battery side.

I think the Semi could be a huge factor in changing the narrative about Tesla and take home at least the most reasonable
progressive/environmentalist side of current Tesla detractors. Less ammo for shorts.

I just hope GF1 (for batteries) and GF2 (for solar panels) can keep up.

EU underestimates job losses through EV push, trade group says

Old Automakers just do not get it. They are trying to scare EU about job loss. They do not believe in EV. The real threat for them is coming from greener, cheaper, smarter, profitable computers on wheels. The main mistake is that they think that they still have a choice.
They should transform rapidly or they will die.
And transformation will cause very red figures.

You will not have much of an investor roundtable if everyone at the table is of one mind. Ten people can look at a painting and each will notice something the others do not. But hey, put on those blinders and earplugs. Does not bother me.

Ah, like Seeking Alpha is a bastion of clickbait "food-foights" with people "rolling on the floor lucifering" and shrieking "lucifer our Lord"/LOL" (never understood this love of "silver tongued demons" but, eh.
a strange place indeed
a 94.3-98.77% ignore rate would make the place reasonable at best
ignore is an excellent "Signal to noise" enhancer, as are "timeouts"

Here is the thing. There is no DEMAND problem...there are no parking lots full of Model 3's that need discounts to sell. There is NO large scale "rework" issue.
There is only OVERWHELMING demand for a car that is setting sales records every month and has not even started to scratch the world wide demand.

You can watch the local parking lot and local dealer all you want.

I just realized: the proof that no one wants any ICE vehicles is, and always has been, right before us. There are literally *thousands* of car lots filled with ICE vehicles that are just sitting there. In fact, there are *so* *many* they have them distributed all across the United States. In fact, even the small town where I live has several of these lots. I drive past a couple of large ones every day. To make it easy to tell which ICE manufacturer has this excess of unsold inventory they usually have their logos posted on the lots.

This has literally been under our noses for years, if not decades, or /even longer/.

We can no longer deny this incontrovertible truth: traditional car manufacturers have been over producing their underselling models and storing them in lots to the tune of millions of unsold inventory. They are all about to go out of business.

Boss Short:
Elon is making an appearance on a show called Joe Rogan;s Podcast late tonight.
Since it comes on when I'll be sleeping I thought I'd go ahead and write some headlines.

Headline: Shortsville Times

Elon sniffles twice. What's wrong with his health ?
Elon gets excited. Is he normal?
Elon lies again! Says Version 9 to be released this month.
Plan 9 from outer space is really software.

If you can think of anything else, let me know.
I have not closed out all of our short positions, we need to do everything we can to stop the current stock rise.
At this rate it will be back above 320 by close on friday.

Signed
Editor Shortsville Times

PS: I really don't want to go back to writing headlines for the National Enquirer.
