Not what you’re after, but in case you didn’t know, you can get a 3 pin socket added to a Rolec charger - Rolec EVWP0020 HomeServ4: 10A RCBO - 13A Domestic Socket
It's not that hard to make a "not quite so dumb" adapter - couple of resistors, a diode and a switch.
However, the connectors are very expensive so it doesn't usually make sense (compared to just providing another ordinary socket).

On a related topic, does anyone know whether, if I got an external 13a socket and mounted it on the wall near where my charger would be installed and I asked nicely, the installer would be likely to hook it up for me while installing the charger? I know this may vary between installers, and wouldn't mind paying a little extra. Has anyone done this?

I'm sure a good electrician could add a socket in 5 minutes if they are doing it as part of the EVSE install
