I thought about that last night and unplugged it, haven't driven since but will report.

Is that a wild guess or are there some known issues around this?

I was having a ton of issues in mine and read *somewhere* that it could be the drive. They specifically said they had two partitions, one for music, one for dashcam. But in any case, my screen was doing the unresponsive thing, and immediately when I removed the usb stick it started back fine. Looking at the disk there were quite a number of corrupted files. This was with a usb splitter for the TapTes wireless charging pad. I unplugged one side (only use oneside anyway) and plugged the drive directly in there and so far it has been good. We'll see.
