Neither of my phones (LG G6, Samsung S9) will charge when I plug them into the console USB ports that face forward on my 2016.5 MS - I get an error message saying charging is limited and I can just barely 'maintain' the level it was at. It doesn't matter which one I use (I did search and read that some folks thought the passenger side was better). However, when I plug it into either of the two rear seat ports, it charges fine.
Has anyone figured out a way to increase the power output of the front plugs? I do NOT want to use the 12V plug in the center console as it stays 'hot' all the time.
Another option would be to 're-port' one of the rear seat USBs to the front. Is there any good thread that talks about how to access the wiring on the rear USBs or how to remove the center console to get to the wiring harness?
