This doesn't seem quite right. "Next gen" seats were available on late 2014 and 2015 cars (see this current CPO offering for instance: Inventory Search | Tesla). Is it possible that you're calling the "gen 3" seats next gen when you mean to say that of "gen 2" seats?
the original Next gen Recaro came on the 2014-2015 P85D, these are the more "stiff" ones with large bolster that holds you nice and snug. they later changed manufacturer for all standard cars/P90D going forward away from Recaro and made softer ones with less "snug"
