Using voice to summon your Tesla!

Neat article and a clever hack but if you follow the links, not so sinister.

Someone used the Amazon Echo APIs and some intermediate tools to translate voice commands into calls to Tesla's own unsupported but documented application programming interface—the same API that enables Tesla's app and third party apps to adjust climate control, locate the car, etc.

Any car with an Internet connection *is* potentially vulnerable to security issues—but if I understand the articles correctly this particular hack relies upon known methods to control vehicle functions. It's neat and clever in the same way that IFTTT.com is neat and clever.

I'd be much more concerned if someone had figured out how to adjust the cruise control distance between cars or change speeds or lanes by sending commands to autopilot!
