Don't waste your time. There is a hidden "Service" mode that ignores any of your settings. You won't have any access from your phone app either.in most normal cars you don’t have a valet option but in the Tesla you do... what’s the routine for those of you who hand over the car for service? Should I put it in valet mode?
Isn't valet mode so they won't mess up your seat settings?Tesla service center? Ignore the valet mode.
There's MUCH more to it than that. I highly suggest reading the manualIsn't valet mode so they won't mess up your seat settings?
I would have probably yelled something different and left immediately. No way is someone going to do that to my vehicle!Tesla service center? Ignore the valet mode.
Any other service center (tire shop, etc...)? Definitely enable it!
Besides the fact that, as others have mentioned, the Tesla folks can bypass the valet mode with their systems, why would they go out to have fun in my lowly Model 3 when their loaners are P100D Model S?
For the other guys, I stopped at a Midas (or something like that) in the Ariel Atom one time to buy an oil filter. As I parked it, some kid came running out of the service bay and loudly declared "I'M GOING TO TEST DRIVE THIS VEHICLE!" before I had even gotten out of the car. If I had been planning on leaving it (just needing an oil filter, so no, wasn't planning on that), I would have maybe said something to the manager and left without leaving the car for service. That's the kind of attitude that valet mode is designed to address.
I have read the manual. I was replying to ignoring it when bringing your car to Tesla service. Are you saying they're going to load up one of my profiles and change the seat settings? There's MUCH more to it than that. I highly suggest reading the manual
Why do you think they would service your car, move your seats, then save the profile?I have read the manual. I was replying to ignoring it when bringing your car to Tesla service. Are you saying they're going to load up one of my profiles and change the seat settings?
That's what valet mode is for!Why do you think they would service your car, move your seats, then save the profile?
Even IF they did they. Why not get back in your car and readjust the seats?
Which the SC will override when broght in for serviceThat's what valet mode is for!
I quickly glanced over your link and it reads as though it still needed to be taken out of valet mode by someone. It may not have been an override but sounds like it was still taken out of valetNot true at all.
Service Mode keeps Valet Mode?
Just to make others aware, having arrived at a service centre yesterday and cruising in Valet Mode (to reduce a problem being attended to) I found my Tesla automatically entered Service Mode on arrival at the geo-fence zone, greying out the various in-car security options and app control too...teslamotorsclub.com
I got a couple extra cards and leave one in the glovebox for when I have to valet it. Easy enough to unlock and pull it out when needed. When you guys go to a parking garage or a valet place, do you leave with the card?
