The Scrap-it program is a nice idea, but almost useless in practice. Before May 1st I contacted a few EV dealers who had vouchers left and they had allocated them only to the most expensive models of the EVs they carried, plus often when the Scrap It site said there was a voucher a direct contact with a dealer would show that it had been reserved by someone. The only way it might possibly work is if you order in early January...

Tesla Vancouver Store Reportedly Took In ~800 Model 3 Orders Last Week | CleanTechnica

They must be waiting for multiple big shipments at the rate they are selling there.

That's what I don't get. One of the sales reps said they're getting ~100 cars/day in, but, based on my back of the envelope calculations, that would account for more than 1/6 of global production (52k M3s for Q1--or 566/day), for BC alone?
Tesla is selling fewer cars, but says it has ‘sufficient’ cash

That seems hard to believe...unless maybe Tesla has decided that folks in other markets can cool their jets while Tesla soaks up the BC tax credits (since those other markets have limited EV options right now)?

The only thing that has me hoping I'll get mine by the end of June (ordered May 16th)--and, therefore, hopefully while the BC tax credits are still in place, is Elon's desires to hit Q2 revenue numbers.

But is it 100 "orders" or "deliveries"?

But is it 100 "orders" or "deliveries"?

I think both, but I specifically asked about deliveries (as I was thinking of grabbing one that was in stock that wouldn't qualify for the federal credits, as I was worried that the BC credits would run out before my ordered one would be delivered). Side note on that point: she said they are now reserving the credits as fast as they can instead of waiting for delivery (but they need a VIN--and time!--to do so, so mine wouldn't be reserved).

If that number is correct, they'll most likely rent out the PNE again and do some mass delivery's ala June/July, 2018. No way they can handle that load at the Powell location.

That's interesting to know. That makes a little more sense logistically, and would seem to dovetail with this article I just spotted: Biggest Delivery Wave In Tesla History Is Underway, Says Musk.

It may be that Tesla can afford to leave BC until much closer to the end of June for deliveries, since they can can (I assume) ship them up from CA in a matter of days?

Subj. Vehicle Delivery Help Needed!
March 21, 2019

...

North America is also stressed, as the final month of this quarter is almost all North America builds. Moreover, for the first two weeks of March, most cars were sent from our factory in California to the East Coast to ensure arrival before the end of quarter.

Last SPAM for a bit. Hopefully, at least 100 of those extra 334 M3s being produced are heading straight to The 'Couv. Except that our 2,000 (or whatever it might be) orders are a drop in the bucket compared to the 50k new ones he said they've received in Q2! I'm still banking on it being easier for him to book a Q2 sale if he just puts them on a truck up the coast vs. a ship to another continent.

UPDATE 1-Tesla deliveries set to top record in Q2 -Musk email

Musk's email, widely posted on social media and authenticated for Reuters by a source familiar with the matter, also said the company had on average produced 900 Model 3 cars per day this week, bringing it closer to a target of 7,000 per week.

...

In the email sent late on Wednesday, Musk also said the company had racked up over 50,000 net new orders this quarter as of Tuesday.

Visited the North Van location yesterday and was told that they have two SR+ models with grey metallic and blue metallic with white interior in stock. So thats 2600+ taxes extra. I changed my original black on black booking to the blue one in order to expedite the delivery and get rid of the waiting game (plus the metallic color and interior were looking great). Anyone else trying speed up the deliver could upgrade the grey metallic!

I would take that grey one.. except no way I could live with two kids, a big hairy black dog and a white interior.

Looks like we're getting some shipments of model 3's in Vancouver.
Seen on Knight Street and Kingsway

I will have the video from my dash cam uploaded to here in sometime.

Ran into one of the delivery specialist this morning. He was pretty busy catching up with CEV claims. Talked to him for a bit, super nice dude. Obviously swamped with orders, but they are trying their best. Order volumes have plateaued a bit, but still crazy. Daily deliveries of new m3's.

Waiting weeks isn't bad for a EV in BC, compared to other makes, good luck trying to find a Leaf, Kia/Hyundai, Bolt, eGolf.

Scrap it program is a total joke. Wouldn't be surprised if it goes away after this year and it's just CEV rebates.

Trust me the white interiors are super cleanable. I did a lot of research before agreeing, and I have a kid as well. The material is not the usual leather. Its something that just cleans with damped cloth. See it to believe it. And the car looks like a premium product.

They are trying to set a new record this quarter.
