We need a Tesla 'sign'

We're up here in central Oklahoma, and my wife just drive by one of the few other Tesla's in town, and they just waved at each other.

A long time ago when we had a Corvette and drove by another Corvette, we'd give a Corvette 'V' sign. Yeah, kinda geeky but fun. So we need a Tesla-to-Tesla sign! Any ideas?

Old but still brilliant... and done by TMC members IIRC...

My wife and I invented one on our recent road trip.

Sunroof open, I raise my right hand from the steering wheel up through the sunroof with my wrist facing the passenger side, hand bent over at the wrist with fingers pointing left, with finger tips curled down a bit. She raised her left hand up through the roof, and we join wrists with her hand bent to the right and fingers curled down a bit.

As seen from head-on or from the rear, our forearms make the trunk of the Tesla fang T, and our hands complete the T top with fingers as fangs.

It's a two person job tho.

I was thinking we need a "Buddy Christ" type of thing.

I saw one the other day. I told my wife look there's another tesla. I'm going to give him the secret sign. (Joking around) I flashed my lights and waved at him/her. He/she did the same. I looked at my wife and we both had a laugh.

The ASL fingerspelling sign for "T" is a fist with the thumb between the index and middle finger (the classic "I got your nose" trick known by all uncles to do to kids).

I guess that might be misinterpreted by the uninitiated, though.

This thread reminds me of an old Seinfeld stand-up routine where he talked about people in similar vehicles acknowledging each other. Bus drivers, turckers, and so on. Then he said the one that puzzled him was the Ford Escort drivers waving at each other, and he wondered if that was acknowledgement of, "yeah, I have a bad job too..."

I like the "V" sign. For me it stands for "victory", which is where Tesla is going, and also it's the old "peace" sign of my younger days, which is how you feel when driving. I usually put my hand near the windshield with a slight wave to get their eye, and of course that's right in front of my Tesla Grin.

Mind you, this is after two and a half years. It doesn't go away.

I received a nice reputation plus for this post. Sadly, either the forum doesn't tell you who gives you reputation or I do not know where to look. Feel free to PM me and once I get my Tesla, perhaps we could meet and I'll buy you that tea! :D
Yeah, a lot of people don't realize that reputation by default is anonymous. Most of the old-timers always sign their reputation comments... but unless you do that the recipient can't tell whom it came from.

When I got a negative rep from AnOutsider he signed with "AO" :p

As for the sign: How about one hand flattened, vertical and "edge on", like for a karate chop, the other one laid in a curve over the first hand's fingertip. Voilá, the Tesla "T".

Autopilot needed for that one, too ... but still less complicated than the "veedub" the Volkswagen drivers need ...
