What is this black square on/under the rear bumper, and how can I stop it from rattling?

The cover for tow hook connection. Pop it off and apply gaffers tape on inside edge.

My 2020 Owner's Manual says:

Remove the tow eye cover by inserting a
small flat screwdriver into the slot located
along the top of the cover, then prying
gently to release the cover from the top
snap.

You may want to check your manual to see what it says.

How do you pop it off?

And don't use anything that will scrape Small screw driver but put tape or something over tip.
