Its on the opposite side of the steering wheel....Use it as a reminder to recheck selected gear (D/R) before pushing accelerator. It will save you ending up in a gym/salon/condo/etc.

Ha.Poor tongue-in-cheek gag on my part. I know where they both are but was trying to get you to look at it each time so you wouldn't fall victim to the "sudden unintended acceleration" in the wrong direction syndrome. Never mind. Enjoy the car!
Not really left over parts in your case. You have a 2015. Autopilot wasn't turned-on until October of 2015. Prior to that, the stalk was still being used as a cruise control lever. Thanks folks.
So Tesla just used left over parts.
Looks like something that should light up or a sensor of some sort, just wanted to make sure I wasnt missing any funtions.

In 2015, they were still using the old cruise control stalk. This stalk eventually changed in 2016 to be Autopilot specific. Back then it was still a layover form the cruise control. That was a light that was lit when you had the cruise set.
You also have a button at the end of that stalk that, when pressed, disengages Autopilot. Originally, it was used to set cruise control. The new stalks don't have that button anymore.
A very convenient feature for sure!FWIW (small detail) -- The button on the end of the cruise control/AP stalk is very handy in my experience. I find it easy to use it to discontinue cruise or AP without touching the brake, and without moving my hand very far where it is resting on the steering wheel. I would miss it if I had a car without it. (I know, you can also push the lever forward to disconnect.)
