OK, second (possibly) dumb question today, I must be on a roll...

Why is Model S offered with black roof as an option? Is it just a styling option that they happened to able to provide for no extra charge, or is there some other aspect to it that I'm missing?

I think it's a good question since it seems hardly anything is included in the base price, so why the black roof. Contrastcolor on the roof is usually an extra cost option.

Why not? This was discussed before, and there are cars (especially performance cars) that offer them. Done right, it can provide a very nice aesthetic.

Yeah, I would imagine that it's best with the white, or possibly silver colors.

I would think that it would make the car really hot inside. Perhaps a plus for cold climents?

I'm not so sure that'll be the case. I've certainly never noticed my black cars being hotter than the white ones inside.

I think there are many studies that show that the interiors of black cars are negligibly hotter than white cars on sunny days.
