Why did you choose the Yakima bar/box? Also, what model?I love my cargo box, but I went the yakima route instead of buying the whispbar. Same company and fit the same on the tesla.
Looks like the Yakima SkyBox 16 is 60 pounds. So if the bar weight limit is 150 pounds, then that just leaves room for only 90 pounds of stuff. That doesn't seem like as much stuff as I was thinking.150 lbs.
The angle of the box as it appears mounted there and how it tips up in the front would worry me (aerodynamic lift).I love my cargo box, but I went the yakima route instead of buying the whispbar. Same company and fit the same on the tesla.

Wow. That's a big difference. I did see where it said 165 pounds. I guess I wasn't thinking that was "per bar."Yeah just checked my specs and it says per bar its 165lbs by two bars its 330lbs capacity from how I understand it.
Super easy. The Yakima ones take maybe 5 minutes tops to take off. It's just one bolt per towerFor those a of you that have the bars installed.
I was thinking of purchasing them, but wouldn't want to leave the bars on all of the time. Are they easy to install and remove? Or do they require a service appointment?
