Why did estimated delivery for new orders jump to 10-14 weeks?

Overseas orders have no bearing on the Model Y. The Y's built in Fremont are only sold in North America.

@Gary95476 I'm pretty sure I've heard the M3 and MY share an assembly line. If that's correct, then it's conceivable that producing batches of M3 for overseas could put MY production on hold for a period of time.
Here is the explanation I was given by my local Tesla contact:
"We usually set a custom cutoff date at the beginning of the last month of the quarter. This date usually signifies that we will stop making custom cars for the next 10 - 14 weeks due to a build cycle for other countries. You ordered before this date before this date, so we should see a car by the end of the month. "
