Why is the Model 3 Sound System so Good?

Does anyone know if the Model 3 premium audio has an MQA compatible DAC? My apologies if this has already been answered but could not find a search function to check for any discussion.

Would it be possible for the original poster to re-run these tests and see if things have changed?
In particular, the output from the subwoofer as some think it may have reduced with firmware updates after the video was made.

I showed my son your request and he re-ran the tests and made a video about it

Thank him for doing that !!! So, the retest shows basically no difference, yet he too thinks it sounds less.

Are we back to mass hysteria and everyone just started to think the original bass wasn't as great as they first thought?


I suppose it could still be something different, but not measured by putting a meter up to the speaker.
Some random thoughts:
Venting has changed so more bass "escapes" without getting to you?
Something different with phasing so that different speakers are cancelling each other out now?
Anyways, still a mystery, but at least we have more solid data to say that the raw output levels on your speakers survived all those firmware updates and hardware aging.

Phasing seems a highly plausible explanation and worth checking out. A couple of bass speakers out of phase would certainly flatten how the system sounds.
