Yes, I have to do that a lot even when the car's door handle comes out as I approach, sometimes it won't unlock charge port until I double click. They need to fix that with an update since I never had to do that until, I believe, they changed the settings to allow only the driver's door handle to extend. I haven't tested my theory, but my suspicion is that if you change the setting to allow all door handles to extend, it won't be a problem.
