Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Would still be curious on daily production. Curious how the ramp is going.

We have this one on our car. We still get the occasional honk. 😊

I wonder if it would be useful for driverless cars to have some kind of light or visual signal that indicates the car is driverless. Might help in some instances.

Informative post. I would be interested to hear more on how the construction zone flag person hand signal situation will be handled. School crossings guards etc. This morning a nice polite gentleman across the street coming out of the Tim Hortons was adamant that I cross and turn first even...

This is all over the globe and mail in Canada. On all the EV groups in Facebook.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

You would think. And yet it’s an off limits topic for tesla. Pretty much zero info for the shareholders.

Will this be another Mexico story though? They had big plans for Monterrey as well…which seem to have gone quiet, along with a new smaller model 2.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

That would explain it. We lived in Palm Springs in winter for years but left in 2018. For the life of me I can’t remember if they have anything like a flashing advanced green arrow for left turns.

How many of that roughly fifty thousand are in transit? I think labeling them as inventory is deceiving.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

We had a ford decide to make a 3 point turn in the middle of the street yesterday. Bad decision on his part. But anyway, car waited patiently while he screwed around. Once it was clear it went thru. Nice. But you would think after all this time it would know what an advanced green arrow left...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Agreed on slim chance of hitting 2 million. FSD is pretty cool now but still too far away from any autonomous level to influence sales. And cybertruck production still seems to be hanging around under a hundred per day after 4 months. Maybe 1.9 million…if things go super well. Less than last...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I think part of it is now with the opening of the supercharger network people can look at other cars and know they will still have access to reliable fast charging. The ford lots here are clearing out there EV inventories that were sitting there for the last 9 months. Talked to a fellow in the...

Re robotaxis. 12.3.3 is great but this time of the year with road work etc we have been in a number of situations that involved flag people. Lots of hand signals, directing etc. I just disable FSD bad all is well. But I’m curious how much of a challenge this will be for FSD and the robotaxi...

    Thanks for the report.
  15. W

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Have been testing 12.3.3. Pretty good. Two issues I can see. 1. It won’t move in an advanced green left turn arrow. Must be promoted with the pedal. Do they have these in the US? Can’t remember. (Lived there on and off for years). 2. Doesn’t slow down at school zone signs. That’s a for...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I don’t know. There are presently good use scenarios for PHEV’s. Even “fuel” cost. With present supercharger rates it’s arguably cheaper to road trip in a Prius. For most people the advantage still lies with EV over PHEV because we can charge at home. But for those who road trip a lot...

Towing with the new 16v battery

People are installing the Tekonsha P3 on the 15.5 volt systems with no issues. We have a 2022 with the 14.4 volt (12 volt) system. 15.5 is within the tolerances of 14.4 (12 volt) systems.

Has anyone seen and daily production guesstimates for the cybertruck of late? They were pretty common there for a bit fueled by drone footage etc. Are we over a 100 per day yet?
  20. W

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Oh ok. I saw reference to about 2500 delivered in January which is around 83 per day. I don’t think cybertruck is far from that now. But January can be slow as well soooo…

There must be a regulatory reason Canada is not getting 12.3.x. Curious what the hold up is. Surprised Elon hasn’t mentioned it.

It’s the weekend so I’ll ask this here as it’s kind of investment related. So with Teslas plan to build a plant in Mexico, has anyone seen any chatter on whether Tesla intends to seriously build out the Supercharger network in Mexico? Cheers.

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

    Agreed.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

A Mexican factory opens up a whole new market as well. The model 2 would probably do well in many Latin American markets. But they will have to get serious about building out the supercharger network in at least Mexico to start with. Right now it’s very patchy…at best.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

[ That was a bit of a disappointment though. I had visions of the next remake of the model Y having an extra 6 or 8 KWh of capacity and a little better range. Maybe someday.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

We picked up both our teslas 460 kilometres away. Because of great ranger service and almost no issues with either the lack of a service centre has never been an issue. And having said that, yesterday our local tesla group had a post about tesla breaking ground on a new service, showroom and...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

True. Let’s hope future customers weren’t buying teslas just because of the charging. Because that’s what there yakin about in the various groups. Time will tell. I’m as bad as the rest. We are interested in a Rivian. Tesla has been good too us but a smaller truck or SUV is intriguing for us...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I’m under the impression that it may hurt sales…and the stock price. I know I know. Most people don’t care about the stock price.
  34. W

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Ugh. All the FB ford and Rivian groups are bubbling today about their ability to charge at superchargers now. And how they’ll never have to even think about buying a tesla again. Ugh. Hope this doesn’t come back to snap tesla in the Assets. Just sayin. 😱

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

No. They probably just found it on the web. It’s a couple years old. We are fine with it. Kinda cool. The only time I remember being at that supercharger (local to us) is to see how it all fit at a supercharger. We have been to dozens of superchargers all over the country and there are lots of...

It’s a selectable sound. Just pick a different sound. You have the goat sound selected. There are about a dozen sounds to choose from. Goat is default.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Significant? No. But it has an affect, or at least with some we have talked to. On the other hand it may draw a few from the other side as well. Hard to say. Elon is going to Elon. Kinda wish he would tone it down but that ain’t gonna happen. 😎 All jmho.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Probably all for not though. I suspect the US will abandon any Paris agreement goals by January 2025 after the next election. There is no way that Tesla and other manufacturers are not going to be affected. I think Tesla may be affected less but I think there will still be a significant share...
