    Answer Signal calls on Tesla

"Phone holders must be commercially manufactured and fixed to your vehicle and must not obscure your vision." NSW I have the Jeda wireless charger which has MagSafe. I assume this is similar to the wireless chargers in newer models than mine. I'm not a lawyer but I'm fairly confident it ticks...

Probably but not as a normal user AFAIK. I expect it needs @greentheonly levels of messing about to retrieve.

But it should have been predicted and planned accordingly. Dysfunction at too many levels. Not unexpected unfortunately.

    Updates to referral program (7/7/23)

If you protest loudly enough they'll likely give you 20k. Assume you have screenshots etc. Reminds me of the premium connectivity thing in 2019 where website did not state 1 year free only but later changed, on protest some of us now have free premium connectivity for 'life'.

Model Y Tow Package available soon from Tesla Australia

These hang solutions are ok but lack the lights and number plate requirements so you need other bits and bobs to be legit. I switched to a Thule platform-type carrier and it's so much simpler for loading the bikes and being legal.

    Charge HQ

Including an Early Adopter plan is such a nice gesture, I don't remember a service offering me this kind of thanks before. The content of the email to early adopters is below, I'm impressed. Since first releasing Charge HQ in late 2021, we’ve been very fortunate to have you as part...

Using Waze On Tesla Model Y

I remembered another reason Waze is a great complement to the Tesla nav system. Waze has the warning tone for when you go over the speed limit for the current road section. And it does this in a useful way, a tone and then it shuts up for a while. Tesla's warning tone I tried but had to turn it...

Using Waze On Tesla Model Y

I'm assuming that the charging pad counts as affixed (Jeda v3), it's a dedicated "mounting" using both gravity and maybe magnets (not sure). Also, it's out of the way, and I never touch it when driving. I'm not a lawyer but I'm also not going to stop using it since chances are it's going to...

Using Waze On Tesla Model Y

Using Waze On Tesla Model Y

I usually drive with Waze open on my phone on the charging mat and find it very helpful for cameras, broken down cars, hazards in road including potholes. Occasionally I glance to check what it thinks the speed limit is when Tesla is showing me something unlikely, seems to be more accurate too...

How to reset your Tesla to fix issues

I had a recent issue where one or more of the resets shared by Tesla Support fixed the problem. I assume these are in a handbook or online but sharing here in case someone searches and it helps them. ---- copy of email contents from Tesla Support---- I will advise you to complete these resets...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I reported it and they finally got back to me. It was fixed by doing all the resets (not sure which one fixed it as what happened next wasn't instantaneous). The app cleared the "downloading" update and then later an update ready for installation was available. So I installed it. Made a note of...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

My Tesla iOS app has a bug where it shows that 2013.12.5 is downloading (100%) with a spinner. Problem is it was installed successfully on 6th May so this shouldn't be showing anymore. Same screen shows the installed version in the car at the bottom and states 2023.12.5 App is latest version...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

the chimes when changing gears are probably a good idea but had to turn them off, very annoying when doing a 3 point turn... and I need to do a magical 5 point turn to navigate my drive and garage quite happy with the update though, not had much useful stuff for a while and the British English...

Is FSD Beta under employee test in Australia

Definitely good they're looking outside USA and to RHD markets. Not sure if they're looking for easy or hard, more likely looking for where they'll sell more FSD

Tesla map and police radar etc

I use Waze on the charging mat, I have a 2019 so it's aftermarket (Jeda) and I even upgraded it to have a MagSafe one (since the older one didn't work with the new iPhone ffs). I think it does comply like a holder, but IANAL, and I don't touch it when driving anyway. For those saying "don't...

    App recommendations?

Charging I use Charge HQ to charge only from excess solar (and in Winter to schedule charge to a different maximum which is then added to by solar). Stats++ TeslaFi (though there are a few that do the same) is great for recording trip data, and I use it to see which software versions are...

This caught me out too with a recent change, the "secret" is the top nav bar appears if you tap the very top (just above the Netflix app display area) and then you'll see the magical x to close the app.

    Charge HQ

This is the same process for any 3rd party service like Teslafi and so on since Tesla doesn't have another way for this to work AFAIK. Anyway, at this point in time I trust Teslafi and Charge HQ. Charge HQ is Sydney-based btw. If smart summon worked they could get your car to drive to them. But...

NSW Tesla Energy Plan VPP Virtual Power Plant

Plot twist, contradicting the earlier response on Twitter the Energy Locals Support ticket finally got a reply (10 days after opening). The response states that GreenPower can be added to the VPP plan. See screenshot.

NSW Tesla Energy Plan VPP Virtual Power Plant

I hadn’t realised there was no GreenPower option with this plan. Have got confirmation from Energy Locals of that fact. Now trying to find out why. I assume the calculations would be far more complex to be fair if there is a surcharge for GreenPower but the FI from the Powerwall pays the same...

NSW Tesla Energy Plan VPP Virtual Power Plant

Now that ReAmped just increased their prices I’ve been shopping around again. I find this VPP deal hard to compare given how different it is. How are people doing the maths here? What are the assumptions?

    Charge HQ

2 weeks in and I love this thing. I had previously tried to manually top up using excess solar but with the limitations of the Tesla app and the sun power keep changing it was rubbish. No need for new hardware which I'd been considering.

    Charge HQ

Heard Tesla Tom mention Charge HQ as something he's beta testing so went looking. Signed up for it myself and just got access, hoping to solve the "charge using excess solar using only a Tesla charger" problem. Anyone else here using/testing it? https://www.chargehq.net

No-one else using seasons? For reference these are the NSW AusGrid specs. The latest update can handle all of this if it can have 4 seasons.
