    Rattling sound when accelerating

My 2019 Model X Raven has started rattling/clanking/clunking only while accelerating. As soon as I take my foot off the accelerator it stops. I never feel any vibration or shudder. Never the less the service center intake person thought it was likely the half shafts - she said early on you don’t...

    Less positive X-care experience

Depending on what app you use to look at the redacted invoice, either just the first page shows up or all the pages show up. When I first looked, only the first page showed up and all you really see is a 12V battery replacement. Only when you can see the additional 2-3 pages do you get a clear...

Don't buy an X in a snowy climate

Gosh, my Model X works great in Lake Tahoe during the winter in very heavy snow. The difference may well be that our temperatures warm up significantly during the day and it rarely stays cold for prolonged periods of time.

2019 Raven - What to do? - (warranty, new prices)

I’m in the same boat. 9/26/23 my warranty expires. I’m going with the XCare additional 7 year 100,000 mile extended service contract since I usually keep my cars a long time or give them to a family member.

2020 X blind spot camera when turn signal is used

I took Lectric_Agent’s advice and purchased these mirrors. https://smartesla.us/products/tesla-wide-view-side-mirror-glass?utm_content=ios&utm_medium=product-links&utm_source=copyToPasteboard I just installed them today. The improvement on the highway is DRAMATIC. No more blind spots!!! It’s...

A little direction with a crash!

Whenever I’ve had this happen to me, it has turned out that my foot was contacting both the brake and the accelerator pedal simultaneously. However, this was in my Acura and not in my Tesla. I’m sorry about your accident.

Cannot force trunk to open all the way inside garage

I have the identical problem on my 2019 Raven and this proposed solution has NEVER worked for me. I’ve tried it more than 100 times over the past few years.

    2019 Model X - Keep/Sell/Warranty?

What’s the TMC code, please? I’m planning to purchase once the battery pack is covered (for a higher premium).

Whining and squeaking noises. What’s causing them?

Easiest thing is just look at the tire size - front tires should be smaller than the rear - e.g. my 2019 Raven calls for: Tire Size (front) 265/45R20 (rear) 275/45R20 (Offset sizing)

Whining and squeaking noises. What’s causing them?

Re: the sound on backing up and turning - work wasn’t recently done on your wheels/tires was it? If the larger tires from the rear ended up on the front that can cause this noise.

Another Tesla design FIX, Rear view camera and rain

Did you position it over the camera while the plastic was still warm and it just stuck in place? Or did you use some other technique to get it to stay in position? I tried something much cruder than this last week - you absolutely cannot have anything extending to the sides or under the camera...

    steering Wheel Scroll/Select

Reading the original post more closely, it was actually not my scroll wheels that were malfunctioning but rather the button you push to give voice commands. The whole assembly including the scroll wheels were replaced to fix my problem. It happened twice. If I honked my horn, it would then...

    steering Wheel Scroll/Select

My scroll wheel assemblies have been replaced twice by mobile service when they stopped working. Mine also is a Sept 2019 Raven.

Must run staggered tires ? 2754520/2654520

275s in the front on my 2019 Raven rub on sharp turns. For my snow tires and wheels I use four 265s.

Questions about Snow Chains for 2023 X with 20" Rims

The Model X with snow tires (no studs) has handled well for me in Tahoe (North shore) the last three seasons. I’m surprised that the snow socks don’t get torn up if put on the front tires by that hunk of metal (what is it?) that sits just an inch or two above the top of the wheel.

Questions about Snow Chains for 2023 X with 20" Rims

No chains on the front of a Model X. The clearance is almost nonexistent, at least on a 2019 Raven. I use snow tires (and rims) for all 4 wheels in the winter and carry snow socks for the rear (but have never come close to using them). This is for North Lake Tahoe/Truckee.

Latest Tesla App no longer showing the charger bar

Yes, the exact same thing happened to me the first evening with my 2019 Raven and my iPhone 12 Pro. When I searched TMC for others similarly affected I found nothing. I was able to start and stop charging using TeslaFi, however. The next morning everything was back to normal and has remained...

    What is this wire?

How do you go into service mode? “If you go into service mode there is an option to see if everything is active (when the car is started).”

Tesla Model X quiz -What is wrong with my car?

Yes, they rotated your tires and put the back wheels on the front - the slightly larger tires will rub against the wheel well on sharp turns. Easy enough for you to check the tire sizes and confirm that this is what’s causing the noise now. Hopefully that’s all it is.
  21. S

Model X - Upper suspension arm ? Is this normal??

Yes, that’s why you can’t put snow chains on your front wheels.

    Stupid lane width logic

I agree. Why not ask Elon? Seems pretty simple, as you say, and I can’t think of a scenario where it would wrong.

    options for reducing dashboard glare?

Why not apply a thin piece of black film temporarily to the top of the grill and see if it helps? It also may turn out to be totally necessary during other seasons. I put a thin piece of black plastic along the top of the driver’s window for the same reason. I almost did not buy the car because...

Software (2022.12.3.20) reinstalls itself and resets settings to factory defaults while charging at Supercharger during long trip

Service center technician was able to look at my log remotely. He was concerned that something was going on with the USB bus. He seemed quite certain that I was playing games on the Tesla when it happened; however I’ve NEVER played games. He asked if I had just plugged in a game controller. Of...

    Windshield shade

Most people don’t use the one that came with their older Model X. You should be able to buy one of those. I think I’m one of the few that uses it. It makes a big difference for me. I did not tint my glass.

    Windshield sunshade/cover/heatshield recommendations?

I’m pretty sure that I tried my Model X Raven 2019 factory sunshade in my friend’s new, refreshed 2021-2022 Model X and it fit normally.

Software (2022.12.3.20) reinstalls itself and resets settings to factory defaults while charging at Supercharger during long trip

Every setting and preference has had to be reset. It’s a pain to have to reconfigure the Homelink settings for three locations. The only thing the car seems to recall is that I have one ding against me of the 3 allowed before the FSD beta is revoked. Darn, that’s the one thing I was hoping would...

Software (2022.12.3.20) reinstalls itself and resets settings to factory defaults while charging at Supercharger during long trip

Yesterday, while charging at the Tejon Factory Outlets, 6 hours into an approximately 8 hour drive from Sacramento to San Diego, my 2019 Model X (Raven) with the FSD Beta seemed to do a total operating software refresh out of the blue, without warning. I lost ALL my settings and all existing...

    Slow charging at 250KW station

Well I was at the Tejon Outlets this afternoon as well, about 3:30 pm. It was very busy, but like you said, perhaps 10-15 chargers of the roughly 58 were still available. I charged at the normal rate. When I first started it was getting 400-450 miles/hour. It got to 80% full very quickly and...

    FSD Beta runs stop signs!

I’ve gone back to both areas now multiple times and reproduced the described behavior. The issue is that the car is not visualizing the stop signs; but to be fair, a human would not see them either. In one case, the stop sign is right after a bend in the road and is not visible until it’s too...

    FSD Beta runs stop signs!

I tried to retitle it “My FSD Beta runs stop signs” but it’s too late for me to edit my original post. I get your point, which is why I went back and immediately reproduced the behavior at the first stop sign. Incidentally, I don’t usually run two stop signs a week, at least that I’m aware of...

    FSD Beta runs stop signs!

Good idea about looking for the stop sign in the visualization. I hadn’t thought of that and it’s easy enough to do. I wanted to let the car run the stop sign when I went back and replicated the behavior, but I didn’t have the guts to do so.

    FSD Beta runs stop signs!

Twice in the past 10 days my 2019 Model X Raven has tried to run stop signs. The 1st time was 3/24/22 while running 2022.4.5.20 (FSD Beta 10.11.1). I was navigating in the city on autopilot and the car clearly was not going to stop at the stop sign until I jammed on the brakes. My recollection...

    Lost Supercharging by merging accounts

Why would Tesla be notified by the DMV that ownership of the vehicle has changed? I don’t see that happening. I’m guessing that that does not currently happen. This information IS needed for recalls but it seems that forwarding the new owner’s information is generally up to the prior owner of...

    Supercharger - Firebaugh, CA (I-5 / West Panoche Rd, LIVE 13 Nov 2020, 56 V3 stalls)

For what it’s worth, the fries at the Wayback Burger across the street were outstanding and the milkshake was also really good. My burger was good too but not as special as the two other items. One time I had to wait about 1 hour after the posted time for it to open and the other time it was...

Will a Model X Fit In My Garage? Need Local Help Willing to Experiment

O OK. Final 3 photos. They don’t improve your situation at all, in that the FWD opening is still way to small for a passenger to use. This time I stopped the door height at 79”. The first two photos the suspension is at standard height. The final photo was taken with the suspension set at very low.

Will a Model X Fit In My Garage? Need Local Help Willing to Experiment

I don’t think that I can shed much more light given how the door articulates depending on what is both above and adjacent to it. Attached is a photo showing how the door opens in my garage if there is no car adjacent. Suspension height did not seem to affect the final position. While the doors...

Will a Model X Fit In My Garage? Need Local Help Willing to Experiment

I believe so, but my wife is not about to back her car out of the garage given that it’s 96° outside at the moment. I’ll get you photos as soon as I can if no one else responds sooner.

Will a Model X Fit In My Garage? Need Local Help Willing to Experiment

Moreover, I don’t believe that your FWDs will hit the sweet spot between the two ceiling beams, but you do the math. Here are my measurements on my car: Front edge of FWD to the rear of car about 80”. Back edge of FWD to the front of the car is about 156”.

Will a Model X Fit In My Garage? Need Local Help Willing to Experiment

At first, I thought you’d be “fine”, as long as you are careful every time. But then I did some measurements and realized that your situation is a bit worse than mine. Measuring up 79” from the floor with a tape measure, I’ve stopped the FWD at 79” to show you what the FWD opening will be like...

How do you open the glovebox without power?

“The junkyard would not allow me to cause further damage”. That’s absolutely absurd given the current condition of the vehicle in the photos. Get the OK of the insurance adjuster? Get a court order? Check with the police? I assure you that someone will access and remove your valuables...

FWDs have a mind of their own: Opening and closing at their leisure and at all hours.

I too have found my passenger side FWD open for no apparent reason on several occasions since the latest upgrade to Version 2021.4.21 on 6/25/21. This never happened before that. Probably it’s just a coincidence unless others have been experiencing this recently as well.
