Have you noticed Spotify being weird lately?

The other day my car switched from a Spotify playlist to a Streaming playlist, all by itself. I don't know what happened but one minute I was listening to my favorite songs on Spotify and the next I was on some weird Streaming playlist. I updated to a new firmware version yesterday...

    2022 trim on 2018?

Yes, it does clip on but it's not an aftermarket thing or anything; it's the factory replacement for the chrome door handle cover. https://service.tesla.com/docs/ModelX/ServiceManual/en-us/GUID-80D848B2-07C5-4987-826B-DFC2D982414B.html

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I think the requirement to slow down is enforced even if there are no kids/students present.

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

The thing is, human drivers screw those things up too. I'm not sure we can expect FSD to correctly navigate every single instance perfectly every time when even humans can't do that. Is that fair?

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

One question I haven't seen answer is what happens in a School Zone? Does FSD pay attention to flashing yellow lights? Will it slow down during school hours? Or will I risk going to jail for speeding next to a school at 3:00 in the afternoon?

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I did notice that there are no "legacy" MX/MS with AP3 that have installed 2024.3.7 (12.3.2.1). However there are plenty of MY/M3 with AP3 that have it installed. I wonder if that is significant. 🤔

I just drove 800 (highway) miles on FSD v11.4.9 and it was really, really good.

I'm not sure we'll ever get to 100% L5 FSD. Not necessarily because of the technology but probably because of human nature. I'm not sure humans will ever trust the computer, even if/after it proves itself. When the first major accident / injury / death that occurs because of FSD the media...

Have you noticed Spotify being weird lately?

Oooo... maybe. Kinda like when you watch ONE Latino music video on YouTube, suddenly you are a fluent speaker of the language and want all of your videos in Spanish. 😡 Though it still doesn't explain jumping from one playlist to another. It never used to do that before.

Have you noticed Spotify being weird lately?

I have the same account on my computer, so yes it's in use somewhere else. However, I've had this same setup for years and never experienced any problems. Plus, while I'm in the car my computer is not playing music, so I'm not sure that would be the cause. Additionally, I never play Mickey...

Have you noticed Spotify being weird lately?

Spotify seems to be having trouble following my playlist recently (the last few weeks). I'll ask Spotify to play Rush and it will play 3 or 4 Rush songs and then switch to something completely unrelated, like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Even when I give it a playlist to play, say Rap from the...

    2022 trim on 2018?

Yeah, well, I tried to gently remove the chrome on my door handles over the summer and was not successful. Maybe I was being too gentle but I didn't want to break anything.

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

You and me both! So, has ANYONE on 2024 gotten 12.3 yet? Am I just wasting my time hitting refresh all day?
  13. RNHurt

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Thank You!!! I thought it was just me that had trouble discerning the direction arrows. 😥
  14. RNHurt

    2022 trim on 2018?

Yes, I checked with my local service center and they told me the cost of the door handle covers was $7 each. Can you believe it!? I thought the cost would be much higher. WooHoo!
  15. RNHurt

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Ok, so who has given v12 the real test - navigating a Chick-fil-A parking lot at lunchtime? I've always said that FSD will be complete once it can take me to get a chicken sandwich and some waffle fries at noon on a Tuesday. 😆

    2022 trim on 2018?

I just realized that the new MX trim is blacked out from the factory. I'm more interested in the door handles and window trim than the back of the car. Does anyone know if those parts match a 2020 MX? UPDATE: I just checked the part numbers and the front door handle bezel for my 2020 MX is...

I just drove 800 (highway) miles on FSD v11.4.9 and it was really, really good.

I'm not sure it's quite there yet. It did pretty well most of the time but there were some times where I would have made a different choice. The problem areas (in my drive) were when it needed to be in a specific lane (ie upcoming off-ramp) and it didn't move over into the right-hand lane. It...

I just drove 800 (highway) miles on FSD v11.4.9 and it was really, really good.

I haven't spent much time on recent FSD builds in quite a while so I was quite surprised with some of the new functionality. The first thing was that I noticed it moved over for upcoming on-ramps. it always bothered me that my MX would stay in the rightmost lane even when cars were trying to...

Have MYLR, thinking about buying MX

I recently (8 months ago) made the change from a 2020 MY (new) to a 2020 MX (used), so I might have some input. I upgraded to get more passenger room and 7 seats; grandkids need somewhere to sit. :) Good stuff: - the ride is much better - the noise is much lower - the doors make the...

iPhone (v17.4 beta) - can receive text messages but can't send new ones

Interesting. I just received the 2023.40.30.14 build (up from 40.30.8) yesterday and I'm still having the problem. Maybe I'll file a service ticket with Tesla to see if pushing a new build works for me as well.

iPhone (v17.4 beta) - can receive text messages but can't send new ones

*sigh* it seems you are correct. I too installed the latest Beta version and the bug still persists. Guess it's time to fill out some Apple Feedback reports.

iPhone (v17.4 beta) - can receive text messages but can't send new ones

Ah, you can "downgrade" but it involves wiping and resetting your phone and restoring it from a backup. That seems like a lot of work. :( I wonder what will happen if I push forward and install the latest beta version (v17.4.3)... 🤔 Let's find out! :D

Unstable connection with my iPhone via Bluetooth

iPhone (v17.4 beta) - can receive text messages but can't send new ones

Well, this is frustrating. I can receive text messages in my MX but I can't send them. I've "rebooted" both the car and my iPhone multiple times with no effect. I've removed and re-paired them several times as well. Nothing seems to work. This has worked flawlessly ever since I purchased...

    Took Delivery of my Cybertruck!!!

How many Tesla's does that guy have? You can catch a glimpse when he scrolls through them on his phone and he has to scroll quite a bit. I'm guessing he does Turo or something. 🤷‍♂️

Model Y - Aftermarket TPMS Sensors

Honestly, I would probably just get the Tesla ones. It's my understanding that the OEM price is pretty reasonable for these things. Probably not worth saving 10 pounds. 🤷‍♂️

Is 2023.44.30.8 going to all cars?

Hahaha! I guess that just goes to show how much I (don't) depend on the windshield wipers. 😭
  30. RNHurt

Is 2023.44.30.8 going to all cars?

Oh, I didn't realize the intermittent function wasn't working before. Wow, how can you screw up windshield wipers so badly!?
  31. RNHurt

Is 2023.44.30.8 going to all cars?

Well, I'm running ...30.8 on my 2020 MX and the automatic wipers don't seem to be any better or worse then they used to. It looks like they just released ...30.13 as a bug fix. Maybe that's the one that make the wipers work. 🤞 😆

    Took Delivery of my Cybertruck!!!

Yes, I've seen some videos where they show the mounting points in the roof and at least one of them has power already ran to it. Not sure if it's 12v or 48v though.

Ooooo.... maybe FSD 12 is getting closer.... 😁
  34. RNHurt

Is 2023.44.30.8 going to all cars?

Yeah, the 2023.44.30.8 rollout was weird. My MX was at the SC for some minor stuff and I had a MX loaner. Both cars were on the .6 patch level and received the .8 patch within hours of each other. I wonder if .8 had something special in it. 🤔

Is this a "hidden" USB drive in the center console?

Hmmm... I'm not sure there was a wireless charger. I have a stock 2020 MX and there is no wireless charger. Holy crap! You're talking about this! https://shop.tesla.com/en_au/product/2012-2020-_-model-s_x-wireless-phone-charger I didn't even notice it! Now, I wish I still had the loaner so...

2020 tesla model x PWS system

I have the same question. Can I retrofit the PWS in my 2020 MX (built late 2019)? I looked under the front driver's side bumper and there is no "grill" in the plastic. That makes me think that it's no possible. But then again, who knows? Maybe the wiring is there but the grill is not. If...

Is this a "hidden" USB drive in the center console?

So, I had a loaner 2020 MX this week and it had this in the center arm rest storage space. It looks like a USB SSD. Does anyone have any information on how to install it? Is this common? I'm using a regular "super small" USB thumb drive but it might be good to move to something like this...

Legacy Cars and the 2023 Holiday Update

I agree that they could be bothersome on local, well known roads. However, I can definitely see the need if you're traveling or on unfamiliar roads. Knowing that the next turn is at a stop light would be pretty handy. Also, the update includes speed camera locations as well, which could be...

Do you think Tesla should support the Matter Smart Home standard?

I was reading an article today about Matter, the Smart Home standard. The standard was just updated to v1.2 which included things like refrigerators, smoke alarms, and robot vacuum cleaners. It got me thinking about what that might mean if the standard supported cars and how Tesla might...

Does the lack of updates for "legacy" cars affect resell value?

Yes, you are correct. I think I misspoke; as I understand it the Cybertruck uses "Etherloop". This is a gigabit Ethernet ring at the physical layer with CAN bus signalling. The best of both worlds! 😁

Legacy Cars and the 2023 Holiday Update

You know, when I had my MY I never understood the complaints about the auto-wipers; the MY wipers were great! When I moved to the MX I suddenly understood the issue; they are absolute crap. I noticed the other day that the intermittent feature doesn't work, or at least doesn't work the way I...

Does the lack of updates for "legacy" cars affect resell value?

@Thp3, I agree completely! And the MY is a perfect car. I loved mine, even a bit more than my MX, but the X has more seats so it was a necessary upgrade. :D
  43. RNHurt

Does the lack of updates for "legacy" cars affect resell value?

I like to split Tesla cars into generations: 1st Gen: Roadster - mostly built by another company and electrified by Tesla 2nd Gen: Model S / X (pre-refresh) - mostly built by Tesla with components from other manufactures (windshield wipers, steering column, etc.) 3rd Gen: Model 3 / Y / New S /...

Does the lack of updates for "legacy" cars affect resell value?

Sure, we get the recall updates and even some of the feature updates, which is great. But we miss a lot of the "fun" stuff or even good to have stuff. For example, my MX doesn't have the blind side feature nor the larger font option. Those are not critical to the function of the vehicle, but...

Does the lack of updates for "legacy" cars affect resell value?

My "legacy" 2020 MX has been missing out on some updated features lately that I think it should really be able to have. Things like traffic light/speed trap icons in the route planner or new light show routines shouldn't be based on any specific hardware version and should be available to all...

    Tesla holiday update

Oh yes, I can plan trips and routes in the mobile app without any problems. It even allows you to edit the trip and add stops.

    Tesla holiday update

Correct, the legacy cars don't have the ability to see traffic lights or speed cameras. I don't think its a problem with the car being able to provide those features, rather it's probably the trouble of testing them on "old" cars. Though I'm not sure 2020 should be considered old. 😠
  48. RNHurt

    Tesla holiday update

It turns out that legacy cars don't have a blind spot camera at all, let alone one that includes a warning. 😢

    Tesla holiday update

As the owner of a 2020 MX "legacy" vehicle, I feel your pain. I just got the holiday update and does not include the remote sentry, updated light shows, or traffic lights/cameras. I do not know if has the blind spot monitor because I've not been out driving yet. 😢

Legacy Cars and the 2023 Holiday Update

So, I just got 2023.44.30.4 on my 2020 MX. Of course I'm happy to get some new features but there are several things that my legacy car can't have, and I don't know why. Light Show Updates Sure, I have the original "X-Mas Light Show" and it seems to work fine, however we're missing out on the...
