I have the General Altimax RT43 on 19s as my winter tires, and they are perfectly fine. For sure louder than oem, because there is no foam, but for wear, tear and handling, perfectly fine. I am not racing anyone or driving aggressively with those tires on anyway.
It actually puts more money in Tesla’s pocket as well. Those that were not “serious” about actually following through with their orders will cancel. (Finances, long wait, whatever the reason is)
Most likely the price is the higher new price now and the new buyer will be paying that.
Either way...
Model Y was the same way when it first came out. In 2 years of production, they have worked out almost all of the kinks.
Since the MX and MS are redesigns they will have the same “new model” issues. Your MY should be good to go.
I had Tesla look at mine 3X until finally one of the techs “placed leather conditioner to seat cushion” and it took care of it. They didn’t have to replace anything. Other 2 times told me it’s normal…… it was an annoying creaking sound.
394 and picking up next week, has all the goodies. And it is not a reject, as it was still unprepped with all the plastic still on, and in perfect shape.
So if you do get a sub 400 vin number go check out the vehicle.
I have a MYP and during one of the services they had me in a M3. There are a few day and night difference between the two - space vise.
1) It sits way higher off the ground - even the lowered MYP versus regular MY
2) I am 5'8'' and I kept hitting my knee on the steering wheel of the M3 - Never...
19 does fit, but when I asked Tesla recently their excuse was the brake calipers not clearing. It did for me for one winter.
I need to replace my tires on the 19s so what is the consensus on best 19 inch tires for mostly winter driving, some snow in Northeast but not full snow tires.
Anyone else with a Model Y on this firmware lose their Auto Wipers?
If it’s on auto, doesn’t do anything. If I switch to regular manual speed, it works.
You forgot about the books and movies that will come from this sacrifice of mine. I like your positive spin on this, much appreciated and made me feel better.
I hear you. I did have the .25.6 and figured going to the .25.7 would not be a big deal.
If anything when they push an update that quick usually there is something wrong with the current version that they are trying to fix, so I was more inclined to do the update.
I guess I was wrong. In a way...
Updated this morning.
Now the rear speakers keep cutting in and out, independent of the source.
Did a reset, same thing.
Really f-ing annoying considering I am going on a trip. I guess will just have to listen on the front speakers.
If you go through the Tesla App, it will not let you update unless you turn off Sentry Mode.
It has been like that from day 1 for me, just turn it off from the app, and do your update.
Weights placed on the seat can easily defeat the seat sensor.
I am sure there is a way to bypass the "eye tracker" on some cars as well.
Any reasonable person, would not buckle the seat while not on the seat and move to the passenger seat.
I have friends that have clips that they use instead...
I just came across this article by consumer reports..... Are they idiots??? I just don't get what they are trying to prove.
I love the picture with the rigged setup.
I would love to see them do the same testing for all other ICE cars, where they place a brick on the gas pedal, tie a rope to...
So how can I contact Tesla, to find out "officially" that the software update will fix this issue? The car is already at service center with an approx. 5-10 business days to take a look at it.
Explains why I am 3+ hours already and no one in sight. App says “help is almost here!” For the last 1 hour. I love the car and the company but this is not fun!
I hope so, the good thing is the error went away, so I can drive it back to my house that was/is only 1 mile away. I asked customer service if that was ok, and they said to go slow. He said the errors were registered and we'll see what service center says. Hopefully they can provide a loaner...
So, Model Y Performance, less then 500 miles, and going 40 MpH and I get this message, car slows down, and as it stops the rear motor makes a shuttering sound and jerks to a full stop.
WTF........
now waiting for a tow, it’s only A 120 minute wait according to roadside help text.
I have the performance with 21 inch wheels in Northeast, and ended up purchasing 19 inch gemini's with continental tires. The performance was well worth the inconvenience of having to swap tires during winter months, and I figure the 2 full sets will last me longer.
So mine was right in the middle of the thread.
I was told that if the tire holds air and you don’t drive on it flat, you can patch it.
used a local tire shop, they were great, watch the whole thing and it was done perfect.
this is the bold that was in there, any chance it’s a Tesla bolt?
Thank you, I don’t think I have any around my location in the northeast, but I will take it to a local tire shop and see if they can plug or patch it. Hopefully they can.
Any special precautions on the rims? (especially the 21s), tesla versus other car manufacturers? I bought the lift pucks as well
So I noticed one of the tires had low pressure reading.
Only to look and find a nail right in the middle of the tire. I only have 100 miles on the car, 1 week old.
Does pirelli have road hazard warranty? Should I have Tesla service take care of it (do they) or a local place (I don’t wants rim...
Same thing happened to me, my Vin is 28XXX, I was worried, and asked if it was a reject, and I was told it was not. I had them send me pictures of the car when it came in to my location, and it still had all factory stickers and protection films on. Then I knew it was not a reject. I would...
I received pictures of the car and it is still wrapped in plastic, so those that are getting a car much quicker and think it's a reject, that is not the case, at least for me.
I ordered 7/25, received a phone call about a match that was at another store on Tuesday, and will be picking up tomorrow. vin at 25***, production date 7/20. PUP, Grey/Black. I am/was worried about being a reject as well, but I was told it was assigned but the person can not take it due to...
