Turning off Climate cancels Camp Mode

I thought you could use Camp Mode to keep the 12 volt accessory outlets live and turn off climate to save power on my 2020 Model Y. However, when I turn off climate it turns off Camp Mode. What I am trying to do is use the accessory outlet to charge Lipo batteries while flying RC airplanes. I...

    Tesla brake caliper cleaning/lubrication

Can this service be done by any auto brake service station? Does it require any specific Tesla knowledge or equipment? I have a 2020 Model Y.

    Chickening out ...

I was planning to take the Model Y on a trip from New Jersey to West Palm Beach, FL. After reading through numerous posts on the experience of taking the Model Y on long trips, I'm taking the Prius, instead. I filled up the Prius's tank which reports an estimated range of 600 miles. The...

    Long trip question

Does the Model Y understand the question "Where is the next Supercharger on my route?". and "Directions to next Supercharger on my route?". I know you can have superchargers displayed and recharging stops plotted on your navigation maps, but if you get hungry or "nature calls" before that...

    Supercharging settings during trips.

When you use the built-in Trip Planner it plots supercharging stop locations, charging times, and charging limits. It is my understanding the charge limit will vary from one stop to another depending on predicted time, distance, and state of charge. Does the trip planner automatically set the...

    Changing Charge Source & Plug

Thanks for the replies. I tested this and it does change back and forth automatically without needing to reset the charge amps using the onboard computer. I made a video demonstrating this: https://youtu.be/GU7N1D1EOFs

    Changing Charge Source & Plug

I currently have the Gen 3 Tesla Wall Connector wired to a 60 amp circuit and my max charge rate set to 48 amps. I have never used my mobile connector and I want to try/test it just to verify it is working in case I ever need it. Do I have to set the new charge rate to 12 amps, or will the car...

Brand new Y with flat tire - my journey

I had a flat on my left rear tire one day after taking delivery. There was a screw in the tire. I plugged it myself, ordered Tesla Pucks, and drove it to a Ford dealership and they did the permanent repair using the pucks on the jack points.

    Battery Drain while parked

I had the problem too. I got rid of Teslafi and only use sentry mode at specific times. It now loses about 2 to 3 miles per day Max. Before I was losing over 20 miles per day.

    Tracking left of center

When I use Auto-Steer, the car frequently tracks left of center. I normally drive right of center if I am on a 2-lane highway (one lane each way) (unless I'm riding a motorcycle). This makes me nervous and It forces the oncoming traffic further to the right of their lane. Is this "normal"...

    Cargo hooks

On my 2010 Prius, there are several D-rings in the cargo space to attach straps/bungee cords etc. to keep cargo secure and not moving around. I don't see these in my Model Y. Did I miss them? If not, what do you do to keep your cargo from shifting around while you are driving?

    Acceleration Boost Purchased

Today I tried flooring the power pedal to experience acceleration from 25 MPH to about 65 MPH. This is without the boost upgrade. I felt like my head was in a centrifuge and all the blood was being forced to the back of my head. It actually made me somewhat dizzy and nauseous. I wonder if...

    Updating Software Question

I just updated the software on my Model Y. Why would it update to 2020.40.3 when 2020.40.7 is supposedly available?

    Acceleration Boost Purchased

Other than playing with it, impressing your friends, etc. it seems to me for "normal" driving, its use would be to allow faster passing and lane maneuvering on highways. So if you are traveling at between 50 and 75 MPH and you need to accelerate 25 MPH rapidly to complete a passing maneuver...

Really? Tesla is a little too cost conscious!

I got my Model Y Friday 10/10/20. My left rear tire was completely flat 10/11/20 after driving 60 miles. Fortunately, most of the air leaked while the car was in my driveway and I had a tire plug kit and compressor at home. I was going to make a post with the same exact points and opinions of...

    Wall connector questions

Yes, they can share a circuit, but not a cable. At least that is my understanding from studying the wall connector manual. The one shared circuit is somehow connected at the electrical panel but there needs to be a separate cable from that panel run to each wall connector. If I misunderstood...

    Wall connector questions

I'm not an electrician, but I believe a subpanel near the connectors would work fine. Given the cost of having a subpanel installed, it would be nice if the wall connectors could provide that function for sharing one cable, obviating the subpanel. Subpanel Installation Cost The cost to install...

    Wall connector questions

Yes. Multiple cars. But each wall charger needs its own cable back to the electric supply panel. It would be nice if they could share the cable as well as the power.

    Wall connector questions

I was just reading about that feature. Unfortunately, you still need to run a separate circuit line (electrical cable) from the electrical panel to each charger. Wouldn't it have been nice if they had implemented it in such a way the one cable could feed into one panel into the garage and...

    Performance Boost Available

I just went on Tesla's website to verify your statement. I found: Model Y Long Range 316 miles Performance 291 miles The Performance has 25 miles less range. So by your approach, there would be a decrease in range, presumably less than 25 miles.

    Performance Boost Available

Theoretically, that makes sense. However, when you monkey with the algorithms, unexpected things can occur. For example, some aspects of the new algorithms could theoretically also decrease efficiency depending on what the algorithms are doing and how they are doing it. Enough people on this...

    Wall connector questions

I am unclear about some points: 1. Is the commissioning just to a. Set the breaker amps and max charge rate for the circuit b. and Connect to your WiFi ? c. Anything else? 2. Is the Wall Connector's connection to your WiFi network only so that when you push the button on the charge port the...

    Charging Question

Rocky, Thanks! So, if I were to set it to charge to 70% daily and plugged it in every night it would charge to 70%, and then as vampire drain dropped the battery's voltage it would turn the charger on periodically to maintain it at the 70% charge (in addition to "preconditioning from the...

    Charging Question

The Model Y manual says "To prevent an excessive amount of energy consumption while the vehicle is idle, keep the vehicle plugged in when not in use." So, let's say the vehicle's current charge is 70% and I don't want to charge it yet. If I have it plugged into the charger, but not charging...
