    Best tires for 2024

The time has come to replace my tires. 2022 MYLR with 20" Inductions. I swapped the OEM tires for 255/45R20 Vredestein Quatrac Pro tires and got about 35K of use out of them. I live in Denver so I need something that can handle reasonable snow - the Quatracs did this very well. Also not opposed...

Phone calls not coming through speakers

Update: volume was all the way down. Issue resolved and I now feel sufficiently stupid.

Phone calls not coming through speakers

Unsure what I would check since there have been no setting adjustments on either phone. Phone calls also work OK on other Bluetooth devices.

Phone calls not coming through speakers

In the past few days, phone calls have stopped working correctly. I believe the microphone is still working, but the phone call audio is not coming over the sound system and it sounds like the line is dead. Tried power cycling twice and the issue is happening with two different phones, also...

20" Goodyear Eagle F1's for sale (Denver, CO)

Selling my stock Goodyear tires that came on the car at delivery. Purchased in November and removed in January, driven less than 3000 miles all in town. Pictures to be posted in the comments. $750 OBO for the set of four, will ship at buyer's expense.

    Roof luggage carrier

I installed the roof rack and will add/remove the ski rack as needed. It's easy enough to put on and take off...so are the crossbars but I'd rather leave them on and not risk cracking the roof glass. I noticed a range hit which coincided with extreme cold so I can't attribute it fully to this...

Just sold my Model Y - Parting thoughts

Have to agree on the lack of buttons to a degree. I love the display...however controlling simple functions like volume, temperature, etc. while the car is in motion can be difficult with the screen especially coupled with the harsh ride. Difficult to get my finger to hit the right thing on the...

What's your next EV after Tesla?

Good point, Tesla really is on an island all its own. Legacy manufacturers are trying to beat them, start-ups are trying to be them. I said in another post that a Toyota/Lexus EV comparable to the MY would be a good contender. As far as a true EV company though, my opinion of Polestar is pretty...

What's your next EV after Tesla?

I am with you. Tesla is out to prove what Toyota has proven time and again in terms of being a dependable manufacturer. Not to say I've had major problems with the Tesla, but Toyota Care is a huge asset and I'd have no questions about build quality and service options. It's likely by then too...

    What company is this charger?

Looks like the Wallbox charger for sale on Amazon. Perhaps there is an unbranded commercial version of this charger? https://www.amazon.com/Pulsar-Level-Electric-Vehicle-Charger/dp/B08H3PPJXY/

Why so many Tesla’s in the span of a few years?

Tesla also uses (or will use, if not implemented already) closed-loop recycling which enables certain battery components to be re-used.

Water in Frunk after touchless car wash

My point is that rubber seals can only handle so much pressure, and the high-pressure touchless carwash likely exceeds that threshold. It is only a soft piece of rubber after all, can't expect the world from it.
  13. F

Water in Frunk after touchless car wash

Should note too that a bit of water would come through the moonroof in my previous car (presumably with similar rubber seals). You make an excellent point.

Water in Frunk after touchless car wash

I've experienced this as well, and was told by a SA that the seals around the frunk don't stand up well to high water pressure, but will work OK to keep rain out. Appears to be a known issue, keep a towel in there when washing or dry out after is my best advice. I wish I'd have known that before...

255/45R20 Tires on the 20" Inductions?

I’m told by Tesla that they cannot do a speedometer recalibration for non-standard configurations. But it’s only off by 2-3 mph at high speeds, so little that it barely matters (i.e. not wrong enough to get you pulled over unless the cop is a real stickler)

    "Forgetful" seat memory?

Interestingly enough I had a M3 loaner for about a week. I adjusted the seat once, still used easy entry, and every time I got in the seat was perfect. Since getting it back, I feel like it's been better...maybe I've just gotten picky and subconsciously know that the seat in my car will never be...

    Cold weather or ski rack?

Dumb question. I'm driving my MYLR around Denver with a ski rack in 16 degree weather. Was seeing 485 wh/mi. Have the ski rack on because I'm driving to the mountains tomorrow, but this consumption is giving me range anxiety. Have not driven in weather this cold before. My question is this: how...

    "Forgetful" seat memory?

Since purchasing the car I've had difficulty finding the "perfect" seat position for myself. On a couple occasions I've found it and saved it to my driver profile. However, it seems like when I get back in the car and the seat moves from the easy entry position, it doesn't move back to the same...

    For Sale - 2022 Model Y Long Range Reservation Transfer - EDD 02/2022 - Houston, TX - White/White - 7 Seater

You might be looking at Model X. Model Y comes standard as a 5 seat and optional 7 seat configuration. In any case, a quick check of the website still allows me to configure the X with 5, 6, or 7 seats.

Supply chain issues getting out of hand

These supply chain issues are getting ridiculous. I went to the SC for an appointment today and this was the only car they had in their inventory. What is this, a Tesla for ANTS????

Moronic placement of backup cam in V11

Totally agree on blind spot cam placement. Should be up high. When I have both hands on the wheel, my fist blocks the video feed. Should be up top and possibly on the side of the screen opposite the driver. Was hoping placement would have changed with 2021.44.30 but alas...it did not.

Darn, I was all excited last night that I had auto lane change capability! Oh well, guess I'll have to continue changing lanes the old fashioned way for now...

    New owner observations and question...

I thought auto lane change was part of FSD. Is OP discussing asking about something other than that? In my experience driving in AP (also new, so also limited knowledge), turning the turn signal on does only that. Changing lanes remains a manual process and requires the re-engagement of AP...

    New owner observations and question...

No but now I want to try it! You make excellent points. I'm not that much newer than you are (going on 6 weeks of ownership)...and I was very much in the same boat about the countless hours spent watching YouTube and reading TMC, and once I got the car I didn't spend as much time online. I...

How are you liking update 2021.44.25.2?

My thoughts exactly on blind spot camera. If my right hand is on the wheel, my arm blocks the video. Also don't love that adjusting the temperature is the only way to pull up the quick adjustment menu, and tapping the temperature set number pulls up the full climate menu. Wish there were more...

    What tires do you recommend

I've heard good things about Michelin CrossClimate 2 and Vredestein Quadtrac Pro for all seasons. After doing some additional research on my own I found the Vredestein Hypertrac Pro (another all season). Quadtrac is a grand touring tire while Hypertrac is an UHP tire. Not sure of the difference...

Initiating phone calls from touch screen

Counting touch screen and voice commands as the same here...really meant using the car's interface in whatever capacity to initiate a phone call. Also mine does show home/work/cell etc., but I have noticed iPhone doesn't always default to a particular label when saving a new number. Most of my...

Initiating phone calls from touch screen

I've had my MY for ~3 weeks now. Biggest issue I've encountered so far has to do with placing phone calls and voice to text from the touch screen while driving. At times the microphone will not initiate correctly...mostly an issue when I'm making a phone call and the person I'm calling doesn't...

    Colorado waiting room

Took delivery at Superior yesterday! Here was my experience: Arrived, my car was parked front and center with temp tags on and paperwork inside. Staff showed me to my car. It was already unlocked and ready for me to inspect. I noticed a few build quality issues, specifically a misaligned front...

    Colorado waiting room

Originally December, then changed to November-December and mostly stayed around there. Very surprised considering the crazy fluctuations people saw when mine stayed pretty close to the original estimate. As the VIN date got closer the window got smaller (30 day window to 7 day window)

    Colorado (Mostly) Specific Questions

Taking delivery of a Model Y soon...will be my first Tesla, and my first car that isn't a 4WD off-road capable SUV. Mostly concerned about driving snowy mountain roads in Colorado (I-70 mostly and city streets in mountain towns). The car will have the 20" inductions with all season tires. I'm...

    Model Y P vs Rivian R1S

Admittedly I know very little about the Rivian’s battery. They’re good looking cars and I love the interiors. But I’d also be adverse to buying the first run if any car fir a lot of the reasons you stated in your original post. Give them a chance to work out the kinks first. I bet the efficiency...

    Model Y P vs Rivian R1S

Buying my first Tesla after owning a 4Runner for 10 years. I’m in a similar boat as you. It’s hard for me not to think “what if…” as in: What if I need all of that cargo space? What if I need off road 4WD capability (after all I live in Colorado)? What if I need to tow a large load? I learned...

    Skii Rack Suggestions

Best ski rack for the Tesla bars?

Saw the roof racks are back in stock. On the fence about ordering one as I'd really only use it for skis (and even then, only handful of times per year).
