Great. It also seems that with UWB car responds to phone key presence more precisely and timely. Glad Tesla fixed the app quickly.

Once I have the phone near the car and open the Tesla app, it requests nearby interaction permission. After that, hands free trunk works again. It seems the 4.34.1 update resolve the UWB permission issue.

I just updated it and saw nothing changed when opening the app. Do you get a prompt for accessing nearby interaction? Does the phone need to be connected to the car for that to happen?

I noticed the same thing, seat cooling remains on after I leave the car and the car locks. I am about to post a question and then see this thread. Thanks for sharing! I did not wait to see if it turns off by itself. I will test whether seat cooling turns off by itself the next time I drive.

Yup, I saw in other forums that someone examined the app and notice that the app did not declare UWB permission. It seems it would be an easy issue to resolve in the next update, although I am not sure whether Tesla engineers are aware of it.

That's good to know. Which version of the Tesla app are you using? From I read here and in other forums, it seems Tesla app version 4.34.0 is the culprit. UWB and hands free trunk worked fine with previous versions of the app.

In addition to iPhone, many Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy phones has UWB capabilities. However, to use UWB with Tesla, only iPhone is supported at the moment, to my best knowledge.

Same here. Car has 2024.14.9 and hands free trunk stopped working after updating Tesla app to 4.34.0. No prompt for nearby interaction. I suspect it is a bug in the latest version of the Tesla app. Hopefully it gets resolved soon in the upcoming app update.

Well, just found this thread on Reddit. It seems at least several more people are having this issue with the current version of the Tesla app (4.34.0). Maybe we should just wait for the app update. Not sure whether Tesla service center can do anything if it really is the app.
