I am in a bit of a pickle and would like to hear you guys' opinions.
I decided to go with Pirelli Scorpion Zero A/S+ for my Model X 75D, largely because of reviews and the fact that it comes with mileage warranty.
America's Tire ordered these for me. The front 2 arrived and are installed on...
@Yinn : What did you end up going with and what is your experience so far? I am mostly in the same boat as you - deciding between OEM contisilent (don't like how quickly they wore out), verde AS+ (worried about speed rating on the front) and Zero AS+ (worried about range impact since it is not...
I am trying to get these as well (instead of Scorpion Zero), but America's tire and Tire Rack say they don't fit Model X 75D (the speed rating doesn't match).
Which model X do you have and can you please share the specific tires you ordered? Also, are you still happy with them?
My logic:
If FSD doesn't happen, you will get your money back eventually (Tesla has to, I think)
If it does happen, they will charge more for it, so better buy now.
proud FSD owner since 2016
Yeah, I have noticed this too - it takes you by surprise the first time it happens. Now when I see a similar situation, I hover my foot over accelerator in case I need to press it to maintain speed.
I am planning a trip for summer and given Tioga is closed right now, the trip planner in my car isn't obliging, so asking the community for help.
I plan to charge to 100% @Groveland near Yosemite and then go to Mammoth Lakes. Before booking the hotels, I wanted to see if anyone else has...
Same boat here. There is nothing else out there other than commuter cars, so the current plan is to bite the bullet and get a 2nd Tesla. Curious to know what else you find.
I am a bit conservative in terms of trusting EAP and I only initiate lane change after checking that there is no car present in the lane next to me for a good distance front and behind (and no other car two lanes over is trying to get into that lane).
Do you trust EAP to do safety checks for...
I am anticipating that the move to EVs will lead to massive drop in sales of automakers that have fallen behind in the EV technology.
Is anyone out there trying to profit from this trend by shorting stocks of automakers? Here is the list I found just on quick google search: Electric Vehicles...
On many of my trips, the actual SOC at destination has been ~10% less than what car's trip planner says so I turn off A/C and start drafting behind trucks when the remaining SOC gets to that level :)
Thanks. I did the trip last weekend. The RV hookups on the Whisper Canyon site had 5-15, so stayed plugged in the entire time I was there and was able to get enough charge to make it back to Gilroy. If there is a way to use two 5-15s on different breakers together, that actually would have...
EAP itself doesn't 4 camera's yet :(
I have FSD too - not sure that was the right call. I think of it more like contributing to a self driving kickstarter campaign :)
Wow, thanks Cosmacelf for the research and the suggestions!
I just ordered the TT-30 adapter. That should give me sufficient charge to get to Gilroy for sure.
About 40 hours. There are regular power outlets at the destination, but they are shared between all the campers at the site - so I am not sure how much time I'd be able to plug in. I am hoping If I am lucky and get 20+hrs of charge, I might be able to make it back to Gilroy (fingers crossed)
Thanks. That will add a lot to the overall travel time unfortunately - but might turn out to be almost the same time as waiting for slow charge in King City (I will have go to the math though).
I will be traveling to Whisper Canyon later this month from bay area and I need to charge at King City to make the trip back to Gilroy.
Keefer's Inn has a Combo DC Fast charger (Chargepoint). Has anyone successfully used it? Does the Chademo adapter work for this charger?
We had a bit of range anxiety so stopped at all SCs along the way - Gilroy, Harris, Buttonwillow, Mojave, Barstow, Primm :)
If you are ok going below 20% soc when you arrive at next SC, you can probably skip Gilroy, Mojave and Primm.
+1. Our family stops anyway every few hours - so for our trip from bay area to vegas, more than half the supercharging time was the stops we would have made anyway. but yes, it still adds 10-20% to travel time. We plan to keep our X for a looooong time, so depreciation didn't factor in as much...
For Hifi, play your favorite music in both with and without Hifi and you will know. I and my wife did that and in 5s of listening, we knew we wanted the Hifi and would regret not getting it.
Didn't get the PUP - didn't seem like it provided enough value (and didn't want perforated seats because...
We got FSD - the package we went back and forth the most on.
Ultimately, it ended up being a combination of a small possibility that some bits and features of FSD will light up before full self driving and I knew I would get it eventually anyway.
Another factor is that I really don't think FSD...
We took delivery of our X on 26th and love the car. I did the overnight test drive and didn't notice any ghosting issue - so I'd suggest doing that so you feel comfortable. We also had cold feet due to reading about quality and ghosting issues online and almost cancelled, but glad we didn't :)
