Plaid is using ACH. Also, another possible benefit that if you cancel the order (due to rejection), your money will return electronically back to your account, without waiting for a check from Tesla.

Just a data point. A MSLR UR 21” Walnut that I rejected early November 2023 currently sits as a demo car in Austin, TX (after sitting months as Inventory car). Literally bumped into it in a parking lot. Checked VIN. No fixes visible compared to what I rejected back then.

Also, MAX speed is 130mph. This is also only true for ‘24 year.

If you have 'earlier pickup available', you can do it yourself. I assume if you choose something from the inventory as part of your existing order, pricing will reflect what is shown in the inventory.

It would mean ‘Tesla is postponing some changes until Feb/March’. People will just learn to wait +2-3 months. Correct strategy will be to really ignore the model years, which will be visible to us as some model years having some changes, and some are not.

So Tesla discounting 2023 inventory models by $2,500+ while keeping pricing on new orders which are ‘exactly the same’ unchanged is basically a proof that model years do matter for resale.

Maybe Tesla used other (cheaper) tires with lower speed rating. EPA ratings are measured with whatever standard configuration you use.

In my case trade in value went up by ~2k for the same order. Original trade in estimate was provided in November 2023, and then in was increased by 2k in December 2023.

I actually considered changing the config a bit, but ultimately decided againts it: why purchase a new car without being able to choose what you want? It just feels wrong.

I agree I should not have paid. I can of course cancel the whole thing, but who knows how long it will take for Tesla to return the money (my past experience says it will probably take months).

Also, to clarify, I was Ok with 2023 VIN. I actually paid the whole amount to Tesla before delivery to avoid any delays, and they still hold the money. It is also fine, just I didn’t expect to wait for an extra month and get nothing.

Ok, so this partucular car was ‘factory gated’ on 10/26/2023. Initial delivery (that I rejected) was on 11/09/2023. The car is still in inventory as of 12/09/2023, already assigned 3 times to me. Not much of a help to wait. Re-ordering would likely resulted in just paying multiple Order Fees...

You will not be able to check your car’s interior before pressing ‘Accept’. But in my case Tesla person promised to reverse the in-app acceptance if I later decided not to go with the car.
