How would this help with not getting the same rejected car?On a near 6 digit purchase, I have no problem ordering a few times and forfeiting the 250 deposit if needed, for good reason.
Not just opining, see my sig.

Exactly. Stuff comes out of assembly line without line being shut down. They already know the mix of colors and interiors people order every year based on the past orders and that's what they plan to. Then they just run the production in the most optimal way they can to maximize productivity.Nope, a shill would be someone who defends the company unconditionally to promote a positive sentiment. Sound familiar?
Also these cars aren't "custom ordered". Tesla matches your desired configuration to what is being built or en route at the time. Unless there's a massive change in order preferences, they don't change the assembly line for the sake of your order. The process is more akin to ordering an iPhone.
Have they fixed the issues that caused you to reject that VIN?Why should I loose my deposit? I did nothing wrong. I’m ready to pick up the car any time and willing to get it ASAP.
By waiting. When you get the VIN, you can track it on the current equivalent of EV-CPO or similar. Probably gone in a few weeks. How would this help with not getting the same rejected car?
He wanted a different year. Can’t fix that if you ordered a 23Have they fixed the issues that caused you to reject that VIN?
Maybe try not making stuff upHe wanted a different year. Can’t fix that if you ordered a 23
They promised to revert to ‘not accepted’ state if I would’ve rejected the car after clicking ‘Accept Delivery’. I accepted that ) But I rejected the car even before that due to panel gaps. Interestingly, the car is still in inventory after 1.5 months.
Doesn’t seem like adjusting a panel gap would be all that difficult.Maybe try not making stuff up
Wiki - Model S Delivery Update
Ordered an Ultra Red with cream and round wheel Plaid on Oct/20 in Vancouver. Delivery date was Dec2-Dec31 for nearly the entire time, then when Dec2 hit the date jumped to Feb18-April14..... I'm wondering if there was a glitch in their automated system since I had not yet had a VIN assigned...teslamotorsclub.com
But it is a perfectly valid reason to reject a car.Doesn’t seem like adjusting a panel gap would be all that difficult.
Did you inspect it to see if it still had panel gaps each time it was assigned? But it is a perfectly valid reason to reject a car.
I’m not the person in question.Did you inspect it to see if it still had panel gaps each time it was assigned?
No. We just agreed initially not to assign the same car.Have they fixed the issues that caused you to reject that VIN?
Ok, so this partucular car was ‘factory gated’ on 10/26/2023. Initial delivery (that I rejected) was on 11/09/2023. The car is still in inventory as of 12/09/2023, already assigned 3 times to me. Not much of a help to wait. Re-ordering would likely resulted in just paying multiple Order Fees, but getting the same car.By waiting. Or you could proceed with the order, inspect the car, and if not perfect, in good faith, reject that VIN.
Right now, I see no downside to order a MS after the holiday.
That was your first mistake, don't pay until you have inspected the car. Also, to clarify, I was Ok with 2023 VIN. I actually paid the whole amount to Tesla before delivery to avoid any delays, and they still hold the money. It is also fine, just I didn’t expect to wait for an extra month and get nothing.
True. Took almost three months for my refund from a Service visit. But 250 is a small price to pay for the car you want.I agree I should not have paid. I can of course cancel the whole thing, but who knows how long it will take for Tesla to return the money (my past experience says it will probably take months).
Perhaps so they match the front seats in lookQuestion. Why are the rear seats perforated as well if they are not ventilated ?
