Yes in the $100k+ market you should be used to delays. It gets worse with lamborghinis in the $200k+ market. They cater to people who want toys. And if said people want the toys today, they need to go on the used market and put $50k above sticker for it. Check out the prices of 2021 Lamborghini...
>50k, It went towards a new car and I had multiple trade-ins. So I don't know how much went to the Tesla, but based on how much I wanted for the other car, the Tesla was given about 50k of weight. With the "tax benefit", where I pay taxes on the difference in trade-in and selling price of new...
This has been sold to a dealership, it's still listed on their site if anyone is interested haha. Feel free to message me, I can get you in touch with the manager there who bought it.
2016 Tesla Model S P90D St. Louis MO 35971410
Yes, but this is nothing compared to customizing a 2020 G wagon. 30 exterior colors to choose from, endless interior color combos (dual dash, diamond stitch, color contrast, stitch color)... the fear of better options keeps me up at night :(
Tesla was easy, the "here's your car suck it up"...
Still available by the way, likely not going to trade this in for another Tesla.
Also got the car freshly detailed on March 18, 2020 (I felt bad for the local detail shop because they called me saying their schedule is completely empty, so I sent all my cars in).
I'm actually very curious now, how much did it end up costing you once you account for down payment, monthly fees...etc... minus that 30k? (Basically, how much did you end up spending?) This sounds pretty incredible, haha.
Hey,
I received a trade-in quote for my G wagon (please forgive me, my daily driver is an S*) and it's higher than a new Model S. I couldn't find anything in the FAQ about it so I wonder if anyone has had experience trading in a car to Tesla with remaining credit.
Does it just zero out the...
Thanks! Nice to see a quickly growing interest in Indiana :)
Haha, this might be me as well. Given that Tesla often provides the left tail of trade-in offers, I don’t understand why people would offer less. Trading in a car is very easy, why would I forgo convenience to get $5,000 less?
The...
3 years ago today is February 22, 2017. Just keep in mind that most leases are 3 years long, so the Model X P100D in inventory will only grow in size in the coming months as off-lease ones roll in.
Be careful of buyers remorse from pulling the trigger too soon!
I still get mobile service so I've been using that - it works OK but has gone downhill over the years (went from practically next day appointments despite being 2.5 hours away from closest SC to appointments 2 weeks out despite now having a SC 1 hour away..)
Are you guys going to the service...
Thanks, haha. I've done it before in the past (but never in the first post), only to be offered less than Tesla Trade-in, so I went with the Tesla Trade-in. I figure this way I would weed out all the tire kickers.
Hey, I received this trade-in offer from Tesla today (2/16/2020) so I'm gonna put it here. Note that Tesla's offer is for the car with the 19 inch wheels (window sticker only has 19 inch wheels). I can do $55k with the 21 inch wheels (tires have 3k miles on them) or $54k with the 19 inch wheels...
Hey guys, don't forget that used cars come with stains, bum marks, former owner smells, memories, and love - these are all priceless things that someone so graciously included for mere thousands of dollars.
Well, don't forget that according to Elon Musk, I save 1 hour per week by not having to fill my fuel tank at a gas station. And according to Elon Musk, I should value my time at $100/hour, so that's $5217.86/year in savings, yaaay!
It should be pretty obvious that the Vroom offer isn't as high as what I would want. If I were to trade-in my car for one of theirs, the tax benefit would be 7% closer. Their offer is in the low 50s, I think it's a strong offer because it's gone up since the previous appraisal in May.
It's a...
Hi Ronin, Thanks for the input! I really wish I had answers but unfortunately, I don’t know where they were refinished. I purchased them with the intention of putting them on, but never got around to it and have momentarily decided that I like the marginally higher efficiency from the 19 inch...
Hello!
I'm looking to sell my onyx black (grey) turbine wheels. Not quite sure if they're called onyx black or grey, please refer to the pictures. Looking for $1,000 for the set. I'm located in Bloomington, Indiana, and can meet at a supercharger nearby!
Conditions -
Wheel #1 - Good
Wheel #2 -...
Hello!
I'm looking to sell my 2016 Model S P90D for $59,000. As of this posting, it has 44,551 miles, with roughly 3 years/40,000 miles of CPO warranty remaining. I'm located in Bloomington, Indiana.
Below are recent pictures and the window sticker with the VIN included (it has a clean...
"The best" is a strong word.
Does Colorado charge sales taxes on EV? I believe they might unless it's the conversion of a heavy vehicle to an EV.
See below, even if the effective sales tax is 5%, on a P100DL, that is more than $5000 in sales taxes. States like NJ have no sales tax on EVs...
Well, yes and no.
If you shop around for leases for any luxury car, you will see RVs in the 50%.
Sports cars tend to be in the mid to high 40s.
Luxury sedans tend to be in the low to mid 50s
SUVs and bigger boxes can be in the high 50s.
Popular models with low mileage per year can be in the...
I sure did! I wasn’t aware that we were allowed to factor in sales tax into our asking price o_O
Maybe I should’ve factored in depreciation costs in as well.
May I should update it to reflect average msrp
Base with a couple options 50% on 80,000 = 40,000
P85D with a couple options 50% on 120,000 = 60,000
On some older models, they’re stuck above 30k because more people can afford at that price point.
I’m done with Tesla’s for a while haha.
Their firmware updates and changes to autopilot are not for me. And the company is moving in the wrong direction. Tesla has operated as a tech company, which means they operated at loss. Now that they are shifting towards making money, their business...
Not quite, but as expected, I sold it within a gentle ball toss of Tesla’s trade in offer to a great owner who knew what he wanted.
Towards the end, I was getting really good offers from luxury/exotic car dealerships. I think they were particularly interested in the low mileage.
I went in...
Tesla treats its customers differently based on liquid net worth. One rep basically told me that if I could flash $1mm+ cash, they’d waive the 21 age req to test drive AND show up to my house with an unlocked tester.
I hope that this estimate from Tesla will end the debate to why I will not be selling my car in the low 70s.
I risk having my offer revoked by posting this (though there is no confidential statement in the document), but I’ve received similar offers by private party and by a dealership in Indy.
Well, Forgive me :D I am in the field of finance so prices are always on my mind. Truthfully, these discussions are useful and engaging. I enjoy having them as much as I enjoy the field I am in.
Before I get called a villain for being one of those finance guys, I should clarify that I am in the...
It doesn't seem to appear as a sale made through Tesla based on the purchase history (In other words, I don't see a fully loaded P90DL sold for $75k, especially not near Denver). Another thing to consider is mileage. Fully Loaded is thrown around a lot, a spec sheet would be helpful (like the...
Two counter arguments here
Lets say this were true... so I am supposed to price my car on out-dated info? Or on the current market conditions? Hmmm, by that logic, maybe I should sell all my shares in Amazon for 1900/share instead of putting it out for 2000/share because they were 1900/share...
+1
It's like me going "Selling naval oranges $5 each!!"
Then someone stands right in front of me yelling "Mandarine oranges are listed at $4 each" without revealing that naval oranges are being listed (and sold) at the same vendor for $6 each.
If you were going "Naval oranges are being sold...
