I was just about to reply to @VectraT to thank him or her for confirming my original suspicion, and now this, lol. It certainly feels like it's one of those 3 (5/32,T25, or T30) and I am still inclined to doubt the first and the last just doesn't seem to fit. I've been trying to get a good pic...
No one knows what size Torx you need to remove the two screws from the back of the steering wheel? Still finding zero info online, which is crazy to me. Looks like the refresh uses four T27 screws, but can't find anything on the 2017-2022 range models.
I feel like this is a dumb question but I Googled it and I can't find consistent answers. Some people say they are T25, others T27, and honestly I'm not sure either are fitting in mine.
Scroll wheel broke and I'm trying to replace it, but I can't get past step one, LOL.
Yep, they got back to me and it looks like about $175 for the fob and $30 to program, give or take. About the same all said and done as what it cost on my newish-model SUV one I add the lower fob cost to the higher programming cost. That said, it's well under the $500/per that I'd been worried...
Just this. My wife lost one fob about a year ago, and somehow I lost the other today while watching Oppenheimer at the theatre. So bummed. Is service still the only way to get a replacement, and are they still a fortune to replace?
Hey @DerbyDave and @EVRider-FL - I appreciate your responses. Unfortunately I didn't get a notification of them, so I guess I'll go check my settings. In any case, I'd definitely tried the key fob update and it said they were good. I'd also replaced the fob battery. Cleared the console area...
Oh yeah, and the key works fine to lock/unlock, and I even tried the Fob Update in the settings and placed my key in the designated area and it tells me my fob is up to date.
So my mid 2018 Model S suddenly started acting differently, as it is refusing to acknowledge the key in the car unless placed in the rear of the console near the USB ports. For 3 years I've been able to have it in my pockets, just about anywhere in the console, on the passenger seat, etc. and...
So I've had my 2018 Model S for 18 months. About 4-6 months ago I noticed the seat was getting lighter in areas in the driver seat base and over the ensuing months it got worse and there was some on the lower back area as well. I just had my car in for some other service and I had them look at...
I just thought I'd provide an update. It took a little longer than I'd have preferred - likely worsened by the holidays, but Tesla was able to get my date corrected and everything appears to be in order now. I'm really pleased.
I'm hoping someone here knows how to actually engage someone at Tesla as I'm a Model S owner that is rapidly becoming disillusioned with this situation even though I love my S and I've been looking at adding a Model X/Y next year. In short, my car was ordered 6/12/18 and I should get...
You, my friend, are a rockstar. I've waited days for someone to answer this for me, and it confirms my suspicions. I think this is going back, and I'll probably go with the black gloss CF though the votes are - few as they are - are almost evenly split so far.
So I have an '18 standard black Model S that I've had done with a satin black\carbon fiber vinyl chrome delete. Most of the chrome was covered in the satin black, but I had them do the black CF vinyl in some areas like the door handles and the side marker covers, as well as the front louvres...
Hey guys,
I live in Orange County south of Irvine and I am looking for a place that won't charge a crazy amount to install my model S spoiler. I know there are vids and such out there but I figure with just one chance to get it right I should consider having a pro do this.
Thanks for any...
So I've been trying to follow this thread, and the other one here. I have a few questions. Is the Mayflash (or the 8bitdo) able to work with a PS4 adapter or Xbox 360 adapter via regular bluetooth on the former or using the PC wireless adapter plugged into the Mayflash for the latter? It...

Interesting. That was my theory - though not that it would be designed to actually work that way. It was especially weird because it was probably 78 outside and the A/C was set on 76 so I didn't even realize if it was cycling. But I think you're right. Can a mobile ranger fix that or does it...
Wondering if anyone else has seen this, and if so if they know what Tesla is likely going to have to fix here. In short, ran out to grab some takeout in my 2018 75D and I had flip flops on for a change. Pulled into my garage and when I was getting out I felt wetness - not just dampness - near...
Would you be willing to share here or via PM? This has been on my to-do list for months but I had the same question and I don't have Photoshop (but I do have SIlhouette Studio.)
I'm trying to plan some immediate travel as early as tomorrow, but I have a Tesla loaner because my 2018 75D is in the shop to have the MCU replaced (borked BT during sw upgrade). They mentioned they thought they had the part in stock and then I got a text right at their closing time of 5pm...
I'm afraid that is you don't understand the relationship between suspension and steering response, stopping distance and control during deceleration them I don't have the energy to explain it to you.
For those of you in the US that have asked about other options if Tesla doesn't help you or wants to charge you....I highly recommend filling a safety complaint with NHTSA. You can do that here:
File a Vehicle Safety Complaint | Safercar.gov | NHTSA
I've worked for two major car manufacturers...
Well. Guess I'm the only person in the TMC universe. Anyway, thought I'd come back to confirm the Tesla mobile service came and yup, it's a bug.5 days later and no call from engineering or ETA.
Mid 2018 Model S. CameCfrom 8.6 to 12.x and my phone Bluetooth for calls is now garbage - sounds too distorted to comprehend. Rebooting and repairing haven't fixed it, either. Nor has powering off and on. BT audio for music seems okay. Even if I am the only one, is calling Tesla support the...
So, regarding Teslawaze, it seems okay here. Mid 2018 Model S. I will say that my phone Bluetooth for calls is now garbage - sounds too distorted to comprehend. Rebooting and repairing haven't fixed it, either.
You weren't wrong. Nagging is not a form of monitoring. Tesla has no idea what I'm doing, they just know I'm not holding the wheel. Tesla is promoting, not monitoring.
I'm in CA and I have a mid-2018 model S that got rear-ended in a parking lot. It was a pickup truck and while it was low speed it dented the hatchback, scuffed the rear bumper pretty good, and pushed the left part of the rear bumper out of line. It appears the other guy's insurance is going to...
I think I'll try this, too - thanks. I have the same problem and sometimes it even replies with "could_not_wake_buses What can I do for you?" then it usually works for the next command.
Thank you all for your replies. I need to check my spam folder as I didn't see any notifications of new posts.
Looks like the lean here is to use the charge from 90 to 100 the morning of approach, with SC as needed. That's what I did and it's just comforting to know most are following the...
So I've read a lot of threads and I haven't seen an answer to this question. I'm sure it's overthinking it, but if someone can provide a good basis for one option over the other, I'd appreciate it. Here's the deal:
I'm in sales and the urban center for my territory is about 80 miles from my...
@Jimmy 1, can you share which SIlhouette you used? If a Cameo, was it a v1,2,or 3? I'm looking to buy a cutter and if I could do one closer to $100 than $200 my wife would be happier :)
