Okay so here is a thought. If I order now and it turns out I wont take delivery until 2019 (and lose the $7500 down to $3750) could I change my order to SR then? will it let me "down grade" an existing order?

Emm that might not work then I have a 6'3" 250lb 15 year old and one of the reasons I love the M3 is how much room there is for the front passenger! I will save up my pennies and learn some patience - thanks

Thanks Knightshade! I do need to bear that in mind as I do like a warm car! 10-20% drop in battery life is fairly significant on 220 mi - I am not confident I will get a LR delivered before end of December as I am not a reservation holder and would only be placing my order now - JUST 4 months...
