    Supercharger Walled Garden

In 2015, Elon Musk said, “Our Supercharger network is not intended to be a walled garden. It’s intended to be available to other manufacturers if they’d like to use it." Do you think this offer is still open to other OEMs? What if Lucid Motors, for example, wanted to make Supercharger compatible...

Visual comparison: Bolt vs. Model 3

I want GM to succeed with the Bolt. Seriously. More long range EVs are a good thing. But the more Model 3 release candidate vehicle photos I see, the more I am convinced that the Bolt is not going to sell in volume because -- in my opinion -- it looks no different from any of the dozens of...

Tesla Master Plan: GM got there first

I just realized that with the Bolt, GM has reached Tesla's strategic pinnacle by shipping the Bolt, and has done it a year faster than Tesla. From day one, Tesla was always focused on eventually manufacturing a long range affordable electric car. The Model 3 will be that car, but the Bolt got...

    Where to get it painted?

So my S with over 65000 miles on it has several white dots that are "peeking" through the black paint. Bought the official Tesla paint touch up bottle. Tesla refuse to touch it, sent me to their local authorized body shop. They want nothing to do with it citing too small a job. Told me to...

I was cruising the Los Angeles freeways yesterday (by necessity and not by choice). As luck would have it, I saw both the Ioniq and Bolt for the first time. Here are my general impressions: Ioniq - a pleasant looking hatchback car the takes its styling cues from the 2010 - 2015 Prius. The...

Another discussion about EVs as they compare to ICEVs

Absolutely disagree. Electric drive is vastly superior when it comes to responsiveness, seamlessness, noise levels, etc. You also have regen which enables one pedal driving. The ICE is utterly obsolete, it just takes some time for it to sink in.
