If you got this message after confirming the details, did you actually get a call from Tesla ? I am still waiting for the call. 56 hrs and counting. May be they don’t call on weekends.

I could've sworn I saw this when I confirmed my configuration on Friday but no luck so far. I even contact Tesla on Saturday but no VIN had been assigned. I'm hoping to get the call soon...getting really antsy here!

Been seeing it since Thursday night. No call.

I called Tesla yesterday. I was told that my order “is no longer in the first part” (no idea what that means) and that I’ve been assigned a Delivery Advisor but not a VIN. I was given the name of the DA but not his phone number or email address (was told it wasn’t in the system “for some reason”).

I was told that the DA would be reaching out to me soon to confirm my order details and answer any questions I have. He assured me that my order is not being held up in the meantime, but later contradicted this saying that the process of finding a match car and assigning a VIN won’t happen until the order details are confirmed.

He said the DA would call me “within 1-2 weeks” and that if he doesn’t, I should send an email to customer service. He didn’t sound confident about any of this.

Interesting...I think I got this message because I requested to change the payment method. I don’t think I would be close to get a VIN assigned.

Here are my details-
Current owner
Reserved - 12/31/2017
Ordered - 07/03/2018
State - NJ
MCR, Non-P AWD, PUP, 19” wheels, EAP, FSD

I wish I got the 48 hour contact notice. I got the email saying your Tesla's here! and 5 minutes later the guy calling saying to come pick it up by Saturday (this was a Monday evening). We weren't quite ready as that had only been a week and a half since we configured our Tesla, thinking we had a couple months to get the financing ready... doh! Hopefully, we'll get another quickly, had to reschedule as they would only hold it for 5 days (which meant Saturday or wait in line again).

RWD?

I had the same message since I confirmed and changed the details on the registrants. Saturday morning I received an email from the delivery advisor that I had VIN and a delivery date. My online account still says somebody will reach out to me regarding the changes. It does show the VIN and delivery date though.

@Nirenk : Did you confirm everything or did you make any changes?

65+ hours so far - still no call for me. And here I thought "Tesla Silence", referred to the car. Or, maybe, that's 48 hours in "Elon Time"?

I changed the payment method.

I never got a call even on the day of delivery so I called the delivery center to check up on my status at around 2pm (5:30pm delivery appt). The gentleman on the delivery hotline emailed me the final documents around 4pm because I needed an EV rebate to be applied and reflected. Around 5:05pm another person calls me and she tells me that the paint is chipped on the bumper due to transport so we can’t deliver it to you today... I was expecting something like this was going to happen, but c’mon, they should be checking up on the cars much sooner than a half hour. Fortunately we hadn’t left yet and my wife was tired from the day so she was fine with just staying home, but had we arrived and then be given news that the car wasn’t ready, that would have been a scene at the delivery center!

Yeah, this confirming your order on the web page thing makes zero sense to me. I have an April '16 reservation, a June 27th AWD order and people who are also ordering AWD with '18 reservations and later order dates are getting the confirm page stuff? I still have yet to get the confirm page for my Tesla account. I could understand if they were ordering RWD, but AWD and they're still ahead of me? Seems messed up. I'll probably call Tesla tomorrow, but I doubt that clears anything up. I'm still super excited about the car, but this whole order/reservation/waiting fiasco does seem rather crappy. Guess I'm just being impatient after an over 2 year wait with money on the line.

@Garlan Yea, we're specifically trying to see if anyone who has a message that says that a specialist will contact you within 48 hours has actually been contacted. It look like if you changed anything, instead of confirming everything, you get this message. Clearly since this message appeared Thursday night/Friday morning, its been far longer than 48 hours and so far nobody has reported being contacted. Luckily another person posted that when he called about this issue, he was told that he had a VIN and delivery date, so it doesn't seem like having this message will hold back your delivery date except that if you need to enter payment info, you can not do so while it says this.

@Morrison I'm right there with you. I called yesterday and was told that they meant "48 business hours, or 2 business days, so you should hear from them on Monday" which I find hard to believe. There are 8-9 "business hours" per day, so 48 business hours doesn't really have a lot of meaning. Technically, 48 business hours would be the same as "6 business days" if you've got an 8 hour work day. If they meant two business days, then that's what they should have said. Never heard a company talk about doing something in a certain number of business hours.

Even if they really did mean 2 business days, it doesn't seem like anyone was called on Friday, which would have been the first business day. So I'm not holding on to a lot of hope that they'll call all of us today. The rep I spoke to said he would send off a note to someone who could manually switch "cash" to "financing" on my account so that this notice will go away and he said he would send me an email confirmation so I could just email him back directly instead of waiting on hold if I had other questions. He verified my email address and said I should receive it in "5 minutes." The email never came (checked spam folder). If "5 minutes" means "greater than 1 day and probably never," then I'm really worried about what 48 hours means. So now I don't know if he even sent the email to the guy who was supposed to fix the issue. I've gotta say that Tesla customer service has been pretty irritating so far. I've called and emailed several times. The emails always go unanswered even though the website says I'll receive a response in 48 hours (sound familiar?) and the calls so far have not been helpful. I'll probably call again tonight and see how their excuse changes, if I don't hear from them today.
