Question for you guys in cold weather states. Delivery with Summer Tires.?.?

My LR 21" has been pushed back to roughly end of November from September. I live in The Denver Metro area and we get cold and snow.

Pretty sure it is what it is but how do you all handle delivery of a vehicle with summer tires that should be not be driven or kept in weather below 40 degrees. The Tesla center I will be delivered to does not have indoor storage as far as I know. I guess It will require a little bit of luck with the weather but I am keeping my fingers crossed that when the car arrives it's not a blizzard out and freezing. I do not want to damage my tires/vehicle.

I do put snow tires on all my vehicles and I planned to do something with the Tesla but was really hoping to have some seat time before immediately needing to swap tires and possibly wheels.

Anyone have any opinions??
Have your vehicle delivered to a detail or tire shop that will fit snows tires or swop new wheels with snows.

Yeah, change your order to 19s (if you can without getting price screwed), which come with all season tires and buy 21s as a second set. That's what I am doing.
I wouldn't count on all seasons as a sure thing particularly with the delivery timelines & unknown availability issues.

To date we've only seen summer tires on the new 19s even LR models in Michigan & Washington state. I really hope I'm wrong (northeast US w/ a December EDD), but its possible switching wheel config to get all seasons could results in summer tires regardless.

ah ok interesting. very good info. I had not heard that.

Yeah that could be an option and I would be more inclined to do it if we had any sort of reliable expectation of delivery. I’m not about to drop money on wheels and tires for a car I have no clue when or if it will arrive….ugh. Already purchased and installed a wall charger and sold our vehicle expecting delivery next month….I’m probably just going to take my chances.

Has to be a logistics issue getting it trained over is my assumption.
But why? I've gone by the SC every weekend since I've gotten my VIN and seen other MS LR's and Plaids there. Someone who ordered 3 days before me got his car here last Friday and I'm seeing people elsewhere that ordered a month or more after me getting their cars. What's so special about my car that it can't find its way onto transport?

I certainly am not here to provide all the answers, purely speculation. Nor provide smoke cover for Tesla and their lack of communication. Push harder on your SA and drive it up the chain to get the answers you desire. Just be careful, because you might not like the answer to the questions you ask potentially.

Like many, I finally got a date range after the Tesla email that keeps moving closer in time. Admittedly, the latest changes have only expanded the range by one day each time (not sure what this is about) but only by moving the date earlier (so yay). The last date is still holding at the end of quarter for the (according to Elon) cars he would try to avoid taking because of the QC for end of quarter push cars.

Post email, September 30-October 20. Then it changed to September 21-30, September 20-30 and now September 19-30.

I'm not sure what is going on because I thought with Elon complaining about vendors not delivering parts that the EDD would start changing the other way. I hope that the EDDs are correct (unless they change to 2022).

MS LR, 19", black, no FSD, ordered May 1, RN1148

What was your EDD before that? I ordered July 6th, and am seeing late November.

It went between blank and just the generic "October" until last week where it started as October 20 - Nov 1 and has worked its way up to today. You also have to keep in mind I live less than a days drive to the freemont plant in oregon so there is like almost no trasit time as well.

BTW, for those of us who have been struggling with Tesla's website, I just found that Chrome works really well. Using my Mac, Firefox (my main browser) has been entirely useless and unable to access my account at all, and Safari has given my recurring loops and getting stuck when trying to open my order. I just tried Chrome and it was the first smooth experience I have had with Tesla.

My SA has assured me my 19” will have AS, FWIW.

Are there any LR White interior with 19s getting VINS? I am stuck on this stupid February crap
Not specifically tracking rim size, but we are trying to merge back into the main delivery sheet. But here is a thread dedicated to the white interiors.
