GLOVIS COUNTESS competition.
The results are in!
We didn't have a direct hit in this competition.
At 1200z today the ship was located in Grid Square K1 and within its Minor Square 25
The closest, and therefore the winning, entry was
@Prudyuk (K2 9) who was just 149 NM off target. (Distance measured from the centre of the chosen square to the ship's position at midday)
In 2nd place was
@Dunstan (L1 13) who was a mere 151 NM off target.
In 3rd place was @MJ49 (L2 8) who was 180 NM off target.
Congratulations to all, but there isn't so much as even a cuddly toy to win!
Some trivia for you:
The most popular Major Square was F4
The most popular Minor Square overall was 9
If you had chosen that combination, which two people did, you would have ended up 1414 NM off target.
Wow! That was close, 2 miles separating 1st and 2nd place!
The bulk of entries had chosen grid square F4 and this would have been a winning square if the question had been where would she be on the 7 June, but it wasn't!
Interestingly, this is the 2nd competition in a row where F4 was the most popular major square and 9 was the most popular minor square.
You've got to hand it to
@Dunstan - this is the 3rd competition in a row where he has featured in the top 3 - Well done, Sir!
