The best way to respond dlv1984 is that since it's a technology and we all view it this way rather than a typical car. The lack of knowing the life cycle of a new Tesla is the problem. I personally wouldn't go buy a new iPhone in August when I know I can buy the newest one in September. I wouldn't have been impacted if I purchased this car a year+ ago, but I bought it quite recently.
So you wouldn't buy the iPhone
How many people do you think would buy a tesla if they told everyone that a new car or version was coming out on x date? How many months ahead should they announce this change, say 3 months in your case? So July 1 a new car is coming, tesla has depressed sales for April may and June, and pissed off customers who bought and or finalized in March, why aren't they told? they opined! or... 3 months before the announcement in your case so people who had their cars delivered in jan.
