Well ladies & germs, this is my last post about the number of sign-ups for TdT. It seems that Elie, who's done a number of rallies for everything from Lambo to Smart Car, has a superstition that for the last week before a limited sales event he no longer posts how many are in. I'll have to respect it. For now I can say that we are at 92 in & I'm sure we'll hit 100!!! See y'all in one week.

My car isnt here yet, but I'd love to ride shotgun. I'd be willing to pay someones entry fee for a spot in the right seat. Anyone interested? PM me
Love the enthusiasm! Looks like some people below your post have stepped up... why? Because we are a community! In addition, I PMed you for Plan B!

How is Tesla sponsoring this event?

Tesla souvenir gift bag
Do we have any additional info on this? For those of us too far away to participate, is this a generally-available-for-purchase item or something that I'll have to scout EBay for?

Thanks.

Regarding sponsorship, I don't see Tesla listed here:

(Minor) Website feedback:
The image aspect ratio is messed for portrait mode web browsing for me. It looks like Rolo's Model C.

It looks like Tesla is providing the breakfast. If the breakfast and using their parking lot as the starting point is the extent of their involvement then saying it is a Tesla sponsored event is one interpretation of their involvement.

I bet if you just show up someone would be happy to give you a ride with or without your offer. Just make sure you take your medication and bathe first.
You will still need a ride there or back from Peterson.

I'll bring along extra meds just in case  I'm completely torn now, I have an awesome offer from a roadster owner which is extra cool because the better half is considering a Roadster, but I am very partial to the MS. Oh, decisions decisions lol

Anyway for the OP or mods to change the title of the thread from "9/18 - Tesla Sponsored: Tour de Tesla - A Southern California Police Escorted Drive!" to "9/8 - Tesla Sponsored: Tour de Tesla - A Southern California Police Escorted Drive!" as the 8th not the 18th is the day of the event.

Yikes... I don't see "9/18" but I see "9/8" and that is the web address too (...showthread.php/20621-9-8-Tesla-Sponsored...). Maybe you see the "/" as a "1"?

My 2 cents? Go with the Roadster! I have both (& am bringing both) so not biased in lack of experience for one or the other.

Kinda and yes.
You fly out and I'll make sure you get a front row seat!
Short of that, you can send us a "Flat Stanley" called "Flat Brianman" and I'll make sure he gets in the official pictures!

I have a feeling it will be an eBay find & it will be part of the Tesla Motors collecto-mobilia!

OMG, I thought that we were getting a London Taxi on TdT!

Is anyone driving down from the Bay Area that I can catch a ride with? Also, anyone know what the registration fee is for passengers, not drivers?
I know that NoMoGas had an offer to hit the jump seat of either a Roadster or a MS, but that is starting from Hawthorne. At least if you get to Hawthorne, I'm sure that a 'Teslive-2013' attendee will be able to hitch a ride with someone in exchange for Teslive stories, though brianman hot tub tales are apparently off limits! There are no extra charges per passenger tho I think that NoMoGas is splitting the costs with his ride. I thought that somewhere in the last 50 posts that someone said they were coming down from SF-area.

Sounds like great event! Wish there was a bridge from Oahu to California so all us tropical Tesla owners could join in!
I think that the bridge would need a supercharger (or two)

NoMoGas is riding with me gratis. He's keeping me company and Roadster 40 is now at capacity.

On a relate note, Hawthorne is down to TWO Superchargers. Our Roadster is visiting the Costa Mesa Service Center and we should be getting it back tomorrow. In the meantime supercharging a P85 loaner that I drove all over the LA basin.

More experiences drivers were telling me that the Superchargers were "slow" today. I charge at 30A on NEMA 14-50 with an MC240 and J1772 at 7.2. So, these slow chargers seem plenty fast for me.

Looking forward to meeting you folks on Sunday.

We have 2 independent Tesla verifications that we'll have all 4 superchargers on Sunday!

In the meantime, anyone who is local should arrived with sufficient charge (as requested on the itinerary). There are some coming from a distance who may be thirsty. Is "thirsty" still okay a term to use for electrical juice?
I concur with this and approve (who am I to approve?) of the word 'thirsty'!
We will have people actively managing the superchargers, but yes, please be kind & even consider coming earlier to drinka da juice (da juice is good, no?)!
