Interesting. Did they give you home delivery as an option, or was that your only choice? I picked up my TM3 on August 3rd from the Costa Mesa delivery center. I wonder if it is because they are backed up? Or maybe if they do home deliveries, people are less likely to refuse delivery if they see blemishes or imperfections on the car? I only bring that up because the delivery specialists insist on signing the delivery papers and having you drive the car outside even if you have finish issues, which they prefer we address thru service. Obviously they just want to close the sale.
Overall I thought the delivery experience was straightforward, but it just seems that these advisors really don't know that much about cars, other than the basic orientation they are trained to teach the new owners. Also, some of the greeters in the waiting area (as well as those in showrooms) seem displaced, or just not qualified to be in their roles. One greeter in the waiting area literally asked us the same question 5 times over a 20 minute period, "So who will be driving the car?" I of course answered politely each time, but it seemed strange.
With that being said, at least they contacted me before delivery to let me know the paint defect was too much to pass inspection. I had to wait another week but the TM3 is a fantastic car and blows away any car that I've previously owned. I've only driven it twice since delivery as I'm waiting to put PPF on it, but I've been sitting in the car every night after the kids are asleep, enjoying everything about the interior and installing my vinyl accent pieces
