Late response, but I really like my 2015 Model S in silver. Super-easy to keep clean. It looks sufficiently different from current Teslas that I've had one or two people ask me if it's a new model (!).

If that’s in California it looks like one of those temporary paper plates you get with your car, not a dealer plate. So maybe that’s an actual customer car and it was wrapped or something like that (I briefly toyed with that idea for my X). Just a thought…

Maybe but it was pretty cool seeing a Model Y in silver in the wild. But perhaps this is a telltale sign that they are bringing it back.

Yes, temporary plates*. When you get your car from the dealer, that's what they give you until your regular plates. I also wondered if it was a wrap but not a wrap you would see everyday. Then again... I do not see the Dual Motor badge on the back, which could indicate it is a wrap since you would not put the badges over the wrap. The final option would be a silver SRMY... But I would go with the former.

It's also got tinted Windows in the front, another sign it's a just a customer car.
