Anyone have a delivery estimate for a P100D?

I posted earlier in this thread wondering if the phrase "Your estimated delivery window is Late September - October" that appears on the My Account page at Tesla's website meant that my P100D would be delivered, at the latest, by the first week or two of October or potentially as late as the end of October. Turns out it is worse than that.

On the day I placed the order, August 27, my Owner Advisor told me the website was showing the car would be ready by the end of September. He also said that because I am in California and because Tesla is prioritizing the production of P100D's, I might even get it sooner than that. Of course, he also cautioned that that depended on my confirming the car that very day and that waiting might push that date back. I waited a few days to confirm in case I wanted to change anything and boy was he ever right about that date changing.

On the day the car confirmed, I was traveling and missed the part of the email that said my expected delivery would be October-Early November. UGH! My delivery specialist told me yesterday that the car hasn't even entered production. *sigh*

Tesla needs a strong Q4 delivery number too ;-)

I'm in the same boat. I confirmed on Aug. 30th. Went from late Sept/early October delivery to October/Early Nov. But when I went to the design studio last week and mock built my car again it said October delivery. I just mock built it again and it says late October Delivery. I don't know the status of my production because I can't get my delivery specialist to return an email. Delivery estimates seem way off.

Try calling your DS. I hear it works better.

Set my order Friday Sept 17th. A few hrs later I was assigned a vin #. Got an email a week later saying my tesla was in production. The next day I got another email saying it was done and in transit on sept 29th. Delivery window is Oct 3rd through the 10th. Coming soon. I thought I would trade my corvette in with tesla which I purchased in May 2016. I purchased it for 115k and tesla offered 71k for it with only 2k miles. That was a low low blow!! A dealer ship offered 86k and car max offered 94k why does tesla low ball so much?

Maybe they wholesale all the vehicles. I've never seen a Tesla store selling used cars.

Congrats! You will not miss that Corvette one bit :) By the way, Tesla will price match Carmax's offer. So you can drive your Corvette to your delivery day and just leave it with them.

like someone mentioned, Tesla will match the Carmax offer.

They definitely just flip it to a wholesaler for 0 profit, it's more of a convenience service they offer. As someone else mentioned, they'll match carmax, which is great because then you can get the carmax price and the tax break (if your state allows it).

For my M3, the carmax offer sucked so I went through tesla. They inspected the car and sent specs out to like 100 wholesalers. Highest bid won. Tesla just signed it over to them. So it's a legit process and tesla essentially has no say on the value when you trade an ice in. Private sale would have yielded more but that's a pain and the sales tax savings were nice.

Tesla will generally match CarMax offers.

If you are taking delivery soon, I would like to suggest you look over your hood alignment carefully. Mine is badly aligned and now I have to wait 3 weeks for an appointment.

I'd also check your doors carefully. After 4 full days with the car, I now believe it feels off. At first I thought it was because I was coming from a BMW //M5 which has self-closing doors, so I needed to get use to not having them after 3 years.

But, I've changed my mind. You have to put a lot of force into the doors to close them. At the grocery store yesterday, I walked away from the car. When I came back, it wasn't auto-locked and the reason was the driver door wasn't shut all the way.

Totally agree with you about the doors! I have several times over the past week not shut the door completely. I thought it was just my car...

I changed my P90D order (not yet in production) the day after the announcement but my online order info still indicates the old configuration and timing. I had pushed my order back again recently after then 100kWh pack was outed in Europe. When I upgraded I asked the delivery specialist to set delivery preference for ASAP.

Configuring a new car online today shows an October delivery.

Does anyone have a delivery window for a P100D?
I ordered my Model S P100D the day Elon Musk announced the new model. I picked it up on September 22nd from Manhasset, NY. I think I was the first to take delivery on Long Island. It's a very special vehicle!

I will throw this out there about the doors my drivers door wouldn't shut right when I picked up my car in June, by the time my appointment rolled around the doors closed fine but I had found a few other things for them to address anyways. Just wanted to put that out there the doors seem to have a break in period.

Also when I pointed out the door thing at delivery they wanted to just remove a plug from the bottom of the door at delivery to solve the problem I said that wasn't a proper fix for a new car. The plan was to send my car to a tesla body shop (for who knows how long) just to get the doors fixed, luckily they fixed themselves by the time the appointment rolled along.

Took my Model S into service to fix some due bill items and a possible leaking AC issue.

My loaner is a P85D (non L). The biggest difference I'm noticing with "Insane" mode is a lack of pickup on the highway. The front motor whine is much more present on the P85D. The P100Ds are not only more silent, the actual noise is different and less whiny sounding. This car only has 30K miles on it, but fit and finish definitely feels older than my car. Its amazing how far Tesla has come and how many minor and major improvements they've made. Excited for what the future will bring.

Pretty soon my car will feel "old" in comparison to the new cars!

Not sure if it has anything to do with P100Ds but one of my AC hoses was pinched, causing condensation to build up and not drain. Tesla is going to redirect the hose. My detailer noticed fluid buildup below my carpet on the passenger side when they were working on my car (Dashcam continuous power tap to 12V). I didn't even notice anything. Just an FYI for everyone.
