Auto Windshield wipers are Junk

I had traded in a 5-series for my first Tesla back in 2016 and was shocked at how backwards the autowipers were. I stopped using it but it didn’t matter too much as I had a wiper stalk and could still get by with manual control pretty well. Then I got a Model 3 and I find I don’t have that stalk option any more so now I find myself hitting auto so I can focus on the road while the wipers are moving like mad to clear a dry windshield, or else the wipers are going too slow and I’m constantly hitting the button for a manual wipe. No nice middle ground.

Would be nice if these features could be treated like APPS and be dragged to the "dock" like I have on my iMAC. Select the features you want immediate access to. Seems like a simple piece of software coding to me.
