AWD delivery thread

Hey Ghostrider, I live very close to SpaceX in Seattle (actually Redmond). If I had a job there I could walk there every day. But most people here work you know where.

I reserved in April this year, and I wasn't expecting the car till 2020. I configured on Red AWD non-P 6/28. Still says Sept-Nov on my page. I surely hope I don't get it when I'm on vacation during August!

Hmmm. So either there's a supply issue with the 20s, or they're not actually building/delivering the higher margin configs, or more folks opted out of the performance upgrade.
You are right... there's actually surprisingly few in the spreadsheet with 20" wheels v. 18" aeros for the P package; could just be coincidence that they are all 18s... but if there was a preference for the highest priced config, you'd think we'd see a few 20" ones in there.

Got a call from Tesla today. Guy didn't say much - just that some specialist will reach out to me at some point, I will be assigned a VIN at some point, then delivery can happen, asked if I had any questions on the whole process. He didn't mention any estimates on dates until I asked him. He said around mid-late September for delivery but he didn't really sound like he knew what he was talking about.

I will note that I called the Tesla # about an hour previous to this, heard the long wait time of an hour plus and promptly hung up.

That's a really late reservation date. Are you a current owner or an employee? Tell me why this shouldn't make me hopeful...

Also, do you still have an Edit button on the order page?

Amazing...you reserved almost 2.5 years after me.....and has already gotten a call from Tesla. WOW.

Yep I'm a (really) late comer. All of you will have your cars before me. If I get my car by Nov, which sounds pretty likely, I'll be happy. I only reserved after they announced 3-5 months, open config to everyone.

I'm neither an owner nor employee. I never had an edit button since configuration, literally the only thing I can edit is trade in - which is currently set to no. No doubt it's because I called them and hung up (even then i'm surprised they have time to call me back). Although the guy did not mention that he was returning my call.

Their estimate that you will get your car mid-late September seems pretty generous for someone who reserved and ordered the same date?

Yep I know but I don't that's actually true. I think he was just going off of the Sep-Nov estimate. He did say "the whole system is automated" so it depends, and then he said mid-late Sept. I would've gone for a CPO P85D if I wasn't going to get the full tax credit for the 3.
